Year Plan (Fall 2021)

Contextual Information: I will be teaching 3 physical education classes, all being grades 2/3. The specific placements for each
teacher in the fall haven’t been made, so the information that we have right now is that they may be grade 2/3 splits, or one grade 2
or 3 class. For this reason, the information throughout this plan will sometimes be split between the grades if there are some changes
that need to be made between grades 2 and 3 (such as outcomes, or assessments). For the most part the outcomes are very similar
or the exact same between the two in physical education, so only minor changes will need to be made between the two.

I have 3 different classes for PE and will be with each of them 3X a week for half an hour, meaning that I have 1.5 hours with each
class a week.

There are five units in total that each class will be doing. Each unit is around the same length. The times for gymnastics are non-
negotiable as the equipment is being brought to the school on October 18th and being taken on November 3rd. I tried to make it so
that each class got the same number of periods for each unit, but with no school days it wasn’t possible for them to all be the same,
so some classes may have one more period in a unit than others.

Demographics: This internship will take place at Senator Buchanan school. This school has a demographic that is largely FNMI and
immigrant children. I am expecting to have to teach some vocabulary along with each unit, and to have lengthy discussions on rules
and general expectations when it comes to playing games/sports against others. I have no specifics on ISPs or particular students at
this moment, so those will be added in after I learn more about the students in each classroom.
