TOPIC: The graph shows Internet Usage in Taiwan by Age Group, 1998-2000. Summarize the
information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Note: You should write at least 150 words and spend about 20 minutes on this task.

ANSWER
The bar graph depicts/illustrates the percentage of Taiwanese Internet users in terms of their age
from the year 1998 to 2000. As is presented in the graph, the majority of the Internet subscribers in
Taiwan throughout the time period was between the ages of 16 and 50. However, this percentage
tended to decrease and the Internet user’ ratio from younger and aged people increased.
According to the given data, more than half of Taiwanese Internet users were between the ages of 16
and 30 in 1998. The age group of 31 to 50 years old accounted for 41% of all Internet users. Only a
minority of persons above the age of 50 or under the age of 15 accessed the Internet this year.
In the following year, the proportion of younger and older clients climbed to 8%, while the figure for
the remaining groups declined slightly. A similar pattern was observed in 2000, with senior internet
users increasing to 10% while the percentage of the Internet subscribers aged 16 to 50 years reduced
by 1% to 2%.
According to the data, the percentage of Taiwanese of all ages who use the internet has been
relatively stable over the last three years. It's also worth mentioning that the younger and senior
citizens' needs towards internet usages extended.
