process data generated by and used in business operations. Such operations support systems
(OSS) produce a variety of information products for internal and external use. While

decision Making by managers. They support the decision-making needs of strategic (top)
management, Tactical (middle) management, and operating (supervisory) management tactical
(middle) management, and operating (supervisory) management. Also OSS is the process of the
control system while the MSS is providing information to manage for the planning and decision
making.

2. Suppose that you had to explain to a member of your family or one of your closest friends the
concept of an information system, which includes all its components and other related tools. How
would you define or describe it? Write a two-paragraph description in your own words that you feel
would best describe an information system to your friends or family.

 If I were to explain the concept of information system to my family or to my friends I would

explain what an information system is and I would explain thoroughly what it means, that
information has different types and has different meanings because it is necessary to tell them
all about it so that they can better understand and they know what its uses, so they will not be
innocent or they new that information system is what their using to contact their love one that
far away from them.

 A good example of explaining an information system is that it is better to summarize what its
uses are and what its importance, so that they can better understand it and also, they do not
have difficulties in understanding it. Because if you do not explain to them very well, they will
not know or understand what it is used for and they will find it difficult to apply. So, we should
explain it the way they can understand it well, for them to know or so that when time comes
they know what they will say or answer in case someone ask them at least they know something
to answer because they understood something in your explanation. Or someday they can use
this knowledge to have their jobs.
