PROJECT PROPOSAL
(BRIGHT LIGHT: LITER OF LIGHT ADAPTATION)
II. RATIONALE:
This project proposal is influenced by Mr. Illac Diaz and his Liter of Light that we
saw on the internet, by that we are encourage to build our own liter of light and give it to
other people that are needing a light for their home that are living in our community.
This project is all about using solar energy to have a light for houses. Solar energy is
the cleanest and most abundant renewable energy source available, and people use it
to transform solar energy into electrical energy and light up the bulb or led light. This
project can answer the problem of sudden power interruption during night and day or
the scheduled power interruption that reached up to 12 hours and these problems we
are experiencing in Albay. Due to sudden power outages and weekly power interruption
happening to our area, liter of light can help to have secondary source of light to. Also,
power consumptions are getting higher and the electric bill are also getting higher, liter
of light can help to decrease the power consumption as a source of light during night
time.
Plastic water bottles make up 80% of all waste in landfills. Each bottle can take
up to 1,000 years to disintegrate. Chemicals are also included in plastic water bottles,
and all these chemicals can leak into the water. Consumers may be exposed to
hazardous amounts of plastic leachate. That’s why making use of used plastic water
bottles and recycling it will greatly decrease the pollution and also reduce the risk of
health-related illnesses. Also, recycling water bottles are not limited to liter of light, water
bottles can be recycled into different things if we wanted to, just by using our different
III. OBJECTIVES:
To create a low-cost lighting source that could be produced and given locally to
To deal with the sudden power interruption that the Bicolanos are dealing with

V. TARGET PARTICIPANTS:
The target participant/s of this project are families that are needing a source of light for
their homes especially at night. The implementors of this project will be giving (2) liter of
light to 2 families, 1 each per family, that are residing in Maipon, Guinobatan, Albay.
VI. PROCEDURE:
9. IMPLEMENTATION
VII. WHERE:
Province of Albay.
VIII. WHEN:
This project will be implemented on the second period of Second Semester, school year
IX. MATERIALS:
LITER OF LIGHT
XI. IMPACT ASSESSMENT:
The main goal of this project “Liter of Light” is to have a light using solar energy in
our houses. Using this project, we can determine if there are an impact to our target
participants. One factor is helping those target participants to have a secondary source
of light when power outages suddenly happen. We all know that power interruption is
one problem in Albay. It also had a huge impact in electric bills, by this project it can
decreased the power consumption every day. The bottle we use can consider as a
recyclable material so less bottle garbage then less pollution and practice recycling
strategies. These factors are considered as a good impact from our project. The
significance of our project brought an impact to every individual and in our community.
XII. RECOMMENDATION:
The aim of this project is to create a low-cost lighting source that could be used and
given locally to less fortunate communities in our country. It also given for free to our
target participants that truly needs a source of light in their homes. We want to help
those families that experience no electricity. Even in a simple way we can assure that
they have a source of light in night. From darkness turns into brighter future.
