Circle

Properties
Theorems

• If two arc of a circle subtend equal angles at the

centre of the circle, the arcs are equal.
• Equal chord of a circle form equal arcs in the
circle.
• The angle at the centre of a circle is twice the
angle at its circumference standing on the same
arc.
• The angle in the circumference of a semi-circle is
one right angle.
• Angles in the same segments are equal.
• The opposite angles of a cyclic quadrilateral are
supplementary.
Theorems
• A tangent is perpendicular to the radius
drawn at the point of contact.
• The length of two tangents to a circle from
same external point is equal.
• The angles formed by a tangent to a circle and
a chord drawn from the point of contact are
equal to respective angles in the alternate
segments.
