1. INTRODUCTION
A. Defenition of Analytical Exposition
Analytical exposition text is a text that contains the aouthor’s view on a issues
without influencing the readers to agree or take action. In other words, this text is
argumentative. This text contains the author’s attitude, opinion or position on the
theme raised then suported by various or re-statement of the opinion displayed at
the beginning.

B. Social Function
To convince the reader that topics presented was a important topic to be discussed
or gained attention by way of providing arguments or opinions that support the
main idea or topic.

C. Jenis Teks
1. Analytical Exposition

As I told you in the definition, analytical exposition is the type of exposition

text that begins with a statement that shows the attitude, position, or opinion of
the author on the theme discussed kmeudian supported by various arguments
and closed with reaffirmation.

2. Hortatory Exposition

Hortatory exposition is a type of text that begins with a statement that contains
an issue or issue raised as a written theme. Then supported by various
arguments and supporting evidence that can lead the reader to the author's point
of view. Finally, the text will be closed with advice or recommendations from
the author on what should be done or happen related to the problem or issue
displayed.
D. Explanation Theme
COVID-19 has had a huge impact on our lives for 1.5 years. It's not a short time to
form new habits. Of course, it is a topic that we need to discuss in order to certainly
increase knowledge and educate ourselves to be able to better maintain health.

2. PURPOSE OF WRITEN
To attract the attention of the reader that the topic being discussed is important. By
presenting arguments to strengthen the author's point of view on the topic
discussed. Agreeing to the author's argument is not an obligation for the reader, this
text is only intended to express or express an opinion.

A. EXPLANATON GENERIC STRUCTURE

1. Thesis

Introducing the topic and indicating the writer’s point of view.

2. Argument

Explaining the argument to support the writer’s position. The number of

argument may vary, but each argument must be supported by evidenceand
explanation.

3. Elaboration

To work out in detail of the topic, encoding the orginal content in a different but
related way.

4. Reiteration

Restating the writer’s point of view/ to strengthen the thesis. We can use the
following phrase to make conclusion in reiteeration :

I personally believe….

Therefore, my conclusion is….

In cunclusion….

A. EXAMPLE
NEW HABIT
Thesis

COVID-19 health protocol violators should be sanctioned. As we know, the

number of people infected with the covid virus is still increasing in our country, but
some people still ignore the health protocol by not wearing mask and keeping their
distance.
Argument 1

Firstly, the violators will continue to ignore the health protocol suggested by
the government if they aren’t sanctioned. By being sanctioned, they will feel
deterred and ashamed so that in the future they will obey the rules given.

Argument 2

Secondly, by sanctioning the violators, they will understand responsibility.

Not only does it prevent us from being infected by the virus, but adhering to health
protocols also keep others safe. We may not feel infected, but at least we prevent
bad things by continuing to keep distance and wearing masks. That way, we will
fulfill our responsibilities to ourselves and others.

Argument 3

Lastly, giving sanctions to the violators will make them more aware of the
danger of COVID-19. It is said that WHO declared COVID-19 a pandemic, which
means that this virus is very dangerous, so it is best to continue to maintain health
and avoid COVID-19.

Reiteration

Therefore, the health protocol violators should be sanctioned because of the

reasons given above.
