CHAPTER III

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

This Chapter presents the methods and procedure that was applied in this study. It was
organized under the following sub-heading: Research Design, Research Respondents, Research
Instrument and Procedure in Gathering data.

3.1 RESEARCH DESIGN

since the study is a combination of quantitative and qualitative research, thus the study
used both numbers and descriptive research design and explanation research to determine to
determine the level of marketing skills of students. It describes what is found in the data. It
involves the description, recording, analysis, and interpretation based on the data gathered
through questionnaires which are computed. It is a fact finding with adequate interpretation. It
assess, determines and reports the way things are. In other words, it describes the data that have
been collected on research sample, describes “what is” about the data gathered. In line with the
descriptive assessment, and correlational method was deployed. The study assessed the
marketing skills and how it affects their decision in pursuing business related courses in college.
This was to identify what the dominant entrepreneurial attitudes among students w the affects
their marketing skills.
3.2 Research Respondents

The study’s respondents consist of the Senior High School of Pilar College of
Zamboanga City. We conducted the research into 3 different sections: Grade 11 – Our Lady Of
Mt. Carmel, Grade 12 –St. Mark, and Grade 12 St. Pedro Calungod.
3.3 Research Instrument

This study aims to find out the effects of different social media platforms to the
performance of Senior high school students of Pilar College of Zamboanga City. The researchers
prepared the following questionnaire to determine how many Senior High School Students are
addicted and consuming their time in using different Social Media platforms. This instrument
presents the formal survey about their attitude towards different Social Media platforms.

Data Gathering Procedure

First of all, we constructed 6 survey-questionnaire that is related to our given topic. Then,

we research those question to pick up some choices and to know more about it. After that when

our questionnaire has been already approval we conducted a survey among G11 and 12 sections

in Senior High School of Pilar College of Zamboanga City

After that, we tally those score’s by making a table. In that way, you can easily know

what is the reason why students exposed on Social Media. And the researcher found out

interaction with social media are rampant.
