Learning Episode 1: Reflection: a Journey to teaching

A human being with super powers. A man of HONOR and PRIDE. The reason behind the success
of everyone. An architect of dreams and goals. A builder for tomorrow’s joy and glory. Your mom, my
mom. Your aunt, my aunt. Your teacher and finally my teacher. The greatest hero yet undeclared by
many. The hardest job yet the salary is too low. An incomparable act of greatness and undeniably
evidence of hardships and sacrifices proven that love for education is eternal.

Learning episode one proves that preparedness is the key to a great teaching and learning.
There are lots of advices and strategies in which it helps us to learn new techniques that would improve
the way we teach. Every day is an opportunity of learning and we all know that learning is an unending
process. Teaching needs to be done physically, emotionally and mentally. Those 3 are just the basic
needs of a teacher one should possess. A teacher is not a teacher if she/he doesn’t know how to value
his/her students like his/her own.

Observe. Reflect. Plan. Act. One of which is needed to be a great teacher. Remembering the
content knowledge and pedagogy in which refers to be a professional competency is one way of
showing your eagerness of learning the insides of teaching. In education, there are a lot of competency
frameworks that are being scattered through the use of social media platforms, books and even
seminars which whom our teachers are given the knowledge in which they are embedded of what are
the things needed to display in or out of the classroom, what are the things that they need to possess, to
enhance, and demonstrates in which both the students and community is benefitted. We are taught on
how to act accordingly and behave as a person and act by profession.

Teaching is an ordinary thing for many. Some says that it is boring, very dull and unprogressive.
Some are even degrading teachers just because they are a teacher. Some are even badmouthing and
gossiping the way a teacher teach. Some even writes their expressions, they made fun of how they
present their topics and even cursed them for not getting a high grades at the end of the semester.
Sometimes people tend to made fun and jokes with someone whom they think are unrespectable just
because of how they look, or present themselves in crowd. The mere fact that we are going to be talking
most of our time in front of those students who came from different environment, with different
behaviors, cultures and etc. we really needed to prepare and be ready for whatever circumstances are
waiting ahead of us. That is why in this episode it is important for us to not just put it in our minds rather
we need to act for it. Make it a reflection of action not a reflection of destruction.
