Carson Parker Week 14 Journal
The fourteenth week of my internship began and ended like many of my others. I did not
have any coaches meeting this week, however I was able to give my project presentation to
Coach Courson on Friday. Monday, we played our regular game of kickball and I could tell that
the students were happy to be back on their regular schedules rather than participating in the
Cadet Tests. Tuesday, we headed back up to the weight room and track for strength and
conditioning. On Tuesday some of the students did ask why they still had to do strength and
conditioning since we had already completed the Cadet tests and I was able to explain that this
aspect of physical health is still important to cover even after you have accomplished your goal.
Wednesday we were able to play basketball as our team sport and the students that are on the
basketball team actually ran some plays that they had learned in practice which was cool to see.
Thursday, we focused on stretching exercises to improve flexibility and agility. Friday, we were
all able to have a free day again in which most of the students participated in their own activities
rather than playing a team sport like they have in the past. This week was nice for me as I felt as
though a weight had been lifted after presenting my project for Coach Courson.
