La importancia de aprender un idioma

8 de Agosto de 2021
1. What communication problem did you find between the two parties?

Lack of communication on the one hand, not knowing the other language they could
not even understand their foreign names, they were comparing the band's answers
with similar sounding Spanish words.

2. Was the information given by the speakers correct? Justify your answer.

It was not since they interpreted the answers with their native language having false
answers.

3. List other similar situations you know of where this problem occurs.

1. Job opportunities: currently most companies want to join the economic

globalization, making them look for personnel who master a second language
to be able to send them to other headquarters to work, by not speaking another
language they are losing those job opportunities and the opportunity to get to
know another country.

2. Travel: most trips may come with a guide but sometimes due to budget issues or
problems they can not be present all the time, making this a big problem
because they can not communicate or understand the people or signs of other
countries.

3. Buying products: nowadays there is a great variety of international products

with names in different languages that sound very similar to national
products or things, making that when we go to the store or supermarket we
get confused when we hear or see similar names.

4. Clothes: many times most clothes come with phrases in other languages and we
don't know exactly what it says, but we still buy it since it looks good. But
sometimes these phrases may say something contradictory to what we think or
are and we don't realize it.

5. Series and movies: sometimes we look forward to a movie or series from

another country and when it is finally here we realize that it is only in its native
language so we have to wait for a while for its translation.

6. Music: sometimes we also tend to listen a lot to some songs because we like the
way they sound even if we don't know exactly what the lyrics say
but we still put them in notification sounds, videos, statuses, among others
without realizing that sometimes they are rude or grotesque.

4. What do you conclude from this situation?

I think it is increasingly important to master a second language or even more not

only to achieve personal goals but also to take advantage of the best job
opportunities.
