6. Function description
1. Stop/Transport Mode. In working mode, turn off air switch, battery will go to STOP mode with low
self-discharge. In STOP mode, charging MOS and discharging MOS are turn off, battery cannot
2. Working Mode. In STOP mode, connect the battery to SMPS, turn on switch, battery will go to
working mode. In working mode, BMS will monitor battery voltage, current, and temp, and
communication is available, charging MOS and discharging MOS are closed, Battery will operate as
the settings.
3. Sleep Mode. After turn on the battery , if the battery voltage below the low voltage protection, BMS
will go to sleep mode in 1 minute. In sleep mode, charging MOS and discharging MOS are turn
off ,BMS will check the current in every 1 min, if there is charging current connecting, battery will
4.Error Mode. In working mode, if there is: ①.Battery cells, ΔU>1V, or ②.Any cell voltage>3.9V
or <2.3V, or ③. Battery temp is <-25℃ or +75℃. BMS will go to error mode, ALM will bright
and other LED will shut down, and go to STOP mode, charging MOS and discharging MOS are turn
off.

5. Limit current charge mode. When the battery voltage is under 45V,battery will go to limit current
charge mode.In this mode,BMS will limit the charge current to 10A.If the battery voltage exceed
45V,BMS will go to normal charge circuit.

6.2 Over-charge protection and recovery
When the highest voltage of the cells beyond the over-charge protection voltage of the cells, the system
would enter the mode of over-charge protection and turn off the charge MOS.
When all the cells’ voltage less than the over-charge recovery voltage of cells or discharge the battery, the
system would recover from the protection.
When the highest voltage of the battery group beyond the over-charge protection voltage of the battery
group, the system would enter the mode of over-charge protection and turn off the charge MOS.
When the battery group’s voltage less than the over-charge recovery voltage of battery group or discharge
the battery, the system would recover from the protection.
When the lowest voltage of the cells less than the over-discharge protection voltage of cells, and last time is
more than the delay time of the over-discharge protection, the system would enter the mode of
over-discharge protection and turn off the discharge MOS.
When all the cells’ voltage raise up to the over-discharge protection recovery voltage of cells or charge the
battery, the system would recover from the protection.
When the lowest voltage of the battery group less than the over-discharge protection voltage of battery
group, and last time is more than the delay time of the over-discharge protection, the system would enter
the mode of over-discharge protection and turn off the discharge MOS.
When the battery group’s voltage raise up to the over-discharge protection recovery voltage of battery group
or charge the battery, the system would recover from the protection.
Cautions: The system will enter sleep mode if over discharge protection hasn’t be released in 60 seconds.
When the charging current bigger than the charging over-current protection current value and more than
-9-
the delay time of charging over-current protection, the system would enter the mode of charging
over-current protection and turn off the charging MOS.The system would recover from the protection of the
charging over-current in every 60 seconds.
When the discharging current beyond the charging over-current protection current and more than the delay
time of discharging over-current protection, the system would enter the mode of discharging over-current
protection and turn off the discharging MOS.
The system would recover from the protection of the discharging over-current in every 60 seconds.
When the discharging current beyond the value of short circuit protection and reaches the delay time of the
short circuit protection, the system would enter the mode of short circuit protection and turn off the
discharge MOS.
The system wouldn’t recover by itself unless remove the load or charge the battery.
When the battery and rectifier are in reserve connection and reaches the delay time of the reverse polarity
protection, the system would enter the mode of reverse polarity protection and turn off the discharge MOS.
The system wouldn’t recover by itself unless remove the rectifier or properly connected rectifier.
When the cells’ temperature beyond the value of charging/discharging high temperature protection and the
delay time reaches the charging/discharging high temperature protection. The system would enter the mode
of cells’ high temperature protection and turn off the charge/discharge MOS.
When the cells’ temperature less than the cells’ high temperature protection of recovery, then the system
would recover from the protection.

6.8.2 Low temperature protection and recovery of cells
When the cells’ temperature less than the value of charging/discharging low temperature protection and the
delay time reaches the charging/discharging low temperature protection. The system would enter the mode
of cells’ low temperature protection and turn off the charge/discharge MOS.
When the cells’ temperature beyond the cells’ low temperature protection of recovery, then the system
would recover from the protection.
When the temperature of MOSFET beyond the value of the high temperature protection and the last time
reaches the delay time, the system would enter the mode of protection and turn off the charge/discharge
MOSFET.
When the temperature of MOSFET less than the value of high temperature recovery, the system would
recover from the protection.
When the environment temperature beyond the value of the high/low temperature protection and the last
time reaches the delay time, the system would enter the mode of protection and turn off the
charge/discharge MOSFET.
When the environment temperature less than the value of high/low temperature recovery, the system
would recover from the protection.
During charging, If all cell voltages are greater than 3.40V and the voltage difference between cells ΔU>
40mV, BMS will trigger the balancing process, the balance current is designed base on the capacity of battery
During charging, if the charging current is greater than the setting value, the BMS will limit the charging
current to less than the setting value.
