1) Review the list of strategies for lesson openings. Which


strategies do you (or your teacher) use most frequently? Do
you (or the teacher) use any strategies that are not on this
list?
2) You are going to teach a reading lesson (see below). Decide
what the already-discussed strategies you are going to use to
start our lesson.

• Checking prior knowledge (Games..)

2) You are going to teach a reading lesson (see below). Decide


what the already-discussed strategies you are going to use to
start our lesson.
I would open this lesson by
- Using flash card of occupations to play memory games on
the board.
- Then I will ask some of the students about their parents’ job.
- Then I raise the question “why do your parents work?” or
“Why do your parents work?”
- Then I will brainstorm students’ ideas on the board.
- After that I will show them the video clip about “Why do
people need job?”
