It depends on how much time you plan for your whole teaching period. If you’re

planning for a 50-minute lesson, 10 minutes max should work.

2) What THREE things have you learnt from Day #1's lesson? *

I learnt "why we need to think about the opening lesson, why the opening lesson is important , the
strategy that we can use to open the question".
Yes, but ONE big thing you should remember is that “positive opening of a lesson” activates student prior
knowledge and through this activation, students are READY, CURIOUS, and INTERESTED to participate in
teaching and learning process.

3) What one questions do you still have about the day's lesson? *

you had show the six step of the structure of language" so my question is on the processing of teaching
could we swap the step?
Actually, our topic is more about “structure”, and not steps or stages of a lesson. So I don’t think the idea of swapping
the step works. Simply, there should always be openings (of any forms).

feel happy and feel good to learn to wait for the late students bec when we start to quick the students
who come late will be in the middle of the lesson? how to open the lesson : start the review the lesson
group discussion showing picture or even graph paly game... Pairwork but we need to check the relevant
or the priority knowledge of them

The important purposes of opening the class such as feeling/motivation, comprehension, and learner
differences

3) What one questions do you still have about the day's lesson? *

What is the difference between short revision and advance organizers in opening activity?

1) The main purpose of short review is to check how much students have learnt from the previous lessons,

while “advance organisers” aims to prepare well for the next target language. In other words, through the

use advance organisers, students can overview what is being taught and so be spiritually ready for that.

It plays a role as an introduction of what is being taught.

-The reason of open class.
- I know some structures of opening the class.
- I got some activities how to open the class.

3) What one questions do you still have about the day's lesson? *

What should teacher do during open the class? if there are late and slow learner's in the class.

A teacher can’t do anything for later comers during this opening stage. The only advantage is that when

a teacher spends time opening the lesson, the late comers can start the new lesson at the same time.

Slow learners, however, can get some benefits if the teachers can find different activities or tasks for them

to do during this opening stage. Also, those slow learner may become more motivated when they are aware

of their weaknesses.

2) What THREE things have you learnt from Day #1's lesson? *

I understand the meaning of words Opening Lesson. One more I also knew some strategies to opening
lesson. The last one I have known that the opening lesson it is very important to get concentration from
students.

3) What one questions do you still have about the day's lesson? *

I am wondering that is it right or wrong if I always use reviewing the words to opening lesson.

It depends! As can be seen from my explanation during our online discussion, in order for your opening

to be positive it should be closely linked to the next language focus or lesson. For example, yesterday you

taught a list of words, and today you teach them a reading lesson which contains all the words you taught

them yesterday. In such a case, it is very useful to REVIEW those vocabulary words.

Just remember that a good OPENING is like a good INTRODUCTION that hooks the students interest. So

frequently refer to the strategies we have discussed.
