Introduction

This report sets out to examine the transport situation in my town and suggest the way of improving it.

Public transport in my town.

To start with, the population of my town isn’t large. Despite the fact, the majority of people prefer to
get to work and home not by public transport, but using their vehicles. Taking into consideration both
facts – population and town size, there is only one kind of public transport – buses.

Small town – exhausting traffic jams.

One of the advantages of living in a small town is that leisure centers, parks and markets are quite
available. On the other hand, the location of the town influences the transport situation in the area. It is
situated near the big city, and consequently, the stream of people using their cars is increasing. It causes
long-houred traffic jams and eats up valuable time.

Ways of improving the situation

Personally, I would recommend people, living in my town, try to change their mind concerning using
their cars in the area. It might be a good decision to start using mostly public transport for people, who
work in the town and are not in need to get to work at a long distance. Besides, it could undoubtedly
help tp improve the ecological conditions. As a consequence, it would decrease the discharge of
exhaust fumes into the atmosphere as well as help people enjoy the fresh air and save their
psychological health.
