Translation of Verses of the Holy Qur’an

Al BAqrah
ِ ِ ِِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ‫ات َو َما فِي اأْل َْر‬
ِ ‫السمو‬ ِ ِِ
ُ‫ض َوإِ ْن ُت ْب ُدوا َما في أَْن ُفس ُك ْم أ َْو تُ ْخ ُفوهُ يُ َحاس ْب ُك ْم به اللَّهُ َفَيغْف ُر ل َم ْن يَ َشاء‬ َ َ َّ ‫للَّه َما في‬
 ﴾2:284﴿ ‫ب َم ْن يَ َشاءُ َواللَّهُ َعلَى ُك ِّل َش ْي ٍء قَ ِد ٌير‬ ُ ‫َو ُي َع ِّذ‬
(2:284) To Allah belongs whatever *333 is in the heavens and the earth. *334 "
Allah will call you to account for what is in your minds whether you
disclose it or hide *335 it. He, however, had full authority to pardon or
punish anyone He pleases, for Allah has complete power over everything. *

‫َح ٍد ِم ْن‬ ِِ ِ ِِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ِِ
َ ‫ول بِ َما أُنْ ِز َل إِل َْيه م ْن َربِّه َوال ُْم ْؤمنُو َن ُكلٌّ آ ََم َن بِاللَّه َو َماَل ئ َكته َو ُكتُبِه َو ُر ُسله اَل ُن َف ِّر ُق َب ْي َن أ‬
ُ ‫الر ُس‬
َّ ‫آ ََم َن‬
 ﴾2:285﴿ ‫ص ُير‬ ِ ‫ك الْم‬
َ َ ‫ك َر َّبنَا َوإِل َْي‬ َ َ‫ُر ُسلِ ِه َوقَالُوا َس ِم ْعنَا َوأَطَ ْعنَا غُ ْف َران‬
(2:285) The Messenger has believed in the Guidance which has been sent
down to him from his Lord, and those who believe in the Messenger have
also sincerely accepted the same. They all believe in Allah, His Angels, His
Books and Messengers. And they say, "We do not discriminate against any
of His Messengers. We have heard the Message and submitted to it. Our
Lord, we look up to You for forgiveness, for to You we shall all return." 

ِ ‫ت ر َّبنا اَل ُت َؤ‬

‫اخ ْذنَا إِ ْن نَ ِسينَا أ َْو أَ ْخطَأْنَا َر َّبنَا َواَل‬ ْ َ‫ف اللَّهُ َن ْف ًسا إِاَّل ُو ْس َع َها ل ََها َما َك َسب‬ُ ِّ‫اَل يُ َكل‬
َ َ ْ َ‫ت َو َعلَْي َها َما ا ْكتَ َسب‬
‫ف َعنَّا َوا ْغ ِف ْر لَنَا‬ُ ‫ين ِم ْن َق ْبلِنَا َر َّبنَا َواَل تُ َح ِّملْنَا َما اَل طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِ ِه َوا ْع‬ ِ َّ
َ ‫ص ًرا َك َما َح َملْتَهُ َعلَى الذ‬ ْ ِ‫تَ ْح ِم ْل َعلَْينَا إ‬
ِ ِ
 ﴾2:286﴿ ‫ين‬ َ ‫ص ْرنَا َعلَى الْ َق ْوم الْ َكاف ِر‬ ُ ْ‫ت َم ْواَل نَا فَان‬ َ ْ‫َو ْار َح ْمنَا أَن‬
(2:286) Allah does not burden any human being with a responsibility
heavier than he can bear. *338 Everyone will enjoy the fruit of the good that
one has earned and shall suffer for the evil that one has committed. *339 (O
Believers, pray like this to Allah: "Our Lord, take us not to task if we forget
and lapse into error unintentionally. Lord! lay not on us the kind of
 burdens that You had lain on the people before us. *340 Lord, lay not on us
the kind of burden that we have not the strength to bear. *341 Be kind to us,
forgive us and show mercy to us. You are our Protector : help us against
the disbelievers." 

Al Hujrat
 ﴾49:1﴿ ‫يم‬ ِ ‫أ َُّيها الَّ ِذين آَمنُوا اَل ُت َقدِّموا بين ي َد ِي اللَّ ِه ورسولِ ِه و َّات ُقوا اللَّه إِ َّن اللَّه س ِم‬
ٌ ‫يع َعل‬
ٌ َ َ َ َ ُ ََ َ َ َْ ُ َ َ َ
(49:1) Believers, do not advance before Allah and His Messenger,  and fear
Allah. Verily Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. 

ٍ ‫ض ُك ْم لَِب ْع‬
‫ض أَ ْن‬ ِ ‫ت النَّبِ ِّي واَل تَ ْج َهروا لَهُ بِالْ َقو ِل َكج ْه ِر ب ْع‬
َ َ ْ ُ َ
ِ ‫َصواتَ ُكم َفو َق صو‬
ْ َ ْ ْ َ ْ ‫ين آ ََمنُوا اَل َت ْر َفعُوا أ‬
ِ َّ
َ ‫يَا أ َُّي َها الذ‬
 ﴾49:2﴿ ‫ط أَ ْع َمالُ ُك ْم َوأَْنتُ ْم اَل تَ ْشعُ ُرو َن‬
َ َ‫تَ ْحب‬

(49:2) Believers, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet and
when speaking to him do not speak aloud as you speak aloud to one
another, *3 lest all your deeds are reduced to nothing without your even
realising it. 

ِ ِ ِ
َ ُ‫ين ْامتَ َح َن اللَّهُ ُقل‬ ِ ‫َصواَت ُهم ِع ْن َد ر ُس‬
ِ َّ َ ِ‫ول اللَّ ِه أُولَئ‬ ِ َّ
‫يم‬
ٌ ‫َج ٌر َعظ‬
ْ ‫وب ُه ْم ل َّلت ْق َوى ل َُه ْم َمغْف َرةٌ َوأ‬ َ ‫ك الذ‬ َ َ ‫إِ َّن الذ‬
ْ َ ْ ‫ين َيغُضُّو َن أ‬
 ﴾49:3﴿

(49:3) The ones who lower their voices in the presence of the Messenger of
Allah are those whose hearts Allah has tested for God-fearing. Theirs shall
be forgiveness and a great reward.
Ć‫۝‬ ِ ‫ا َّن الَّ ِذ ْينَ يُنَا ُدوْ نَكَ ِم ْن َّو َر ۗا ِء ْالحُـج ُٰر‬
َ‫ت اَ ْكثَ ُرهُ ْم اَل يَ ْعقِلُوْ ن‬
As for those who call you from behind the apartments, most of them have
no sense.
‫هّٰللا‬
‫َّح ْي ٌم‬ َ ‫صبَرُوْ ا َح ٰتّى ت َْخر‬
ِ ‫ُج اِلَ ْي ِه ْم لَ َكانَ َخ ْيرًا لَّهُ ْم ۭ َو ُ َغفُوْ ٌر ر‬ َ ‫َولَوْ اَنَّهُ ْم‬
Had they remained patient until you come out to them, it would have been
much better for them. And Allah is Most-Forgiving, Very-Mercifu
Č‫۝‬ ‫ص ْيبُوْ ا قَوْ ۢ ًما بِ َجــهَالَ ٍة فَتُصْ بِحُوْ ا ع َٰلي َما فَ َع ْلتُ ْم ٰن ِد ِمي َـْن‬ ٌ ۢ ‫ٰيٓاَيُّهَا الَّ ِذ ْينَ ٰا َمنُ ْٓوا اِ ْن َج ۗا َء ُك ْم فَا ِس‬
ِ ُ‫ق بِنَبَا ٍ فَتَبَيَّنُ ْٓوا اَ ْن ت‬
O you who believe, if a sinful person brings you a report, verify its
correctness, lest you should harm a people out of ignorance, and then
become
َ َ remorseful
‫اْل‬ on what you did. َ‫اْل‬ َ َ َ
‫َ ف‬ ُ َ َّ َ ْ ‫ت‬ َ ‫ْف‬ ْ ْ َ ْ ُ ‫َ عل ْٓ ّ ف‬
‫ي ثَك ِ ۗ ْير ِّمِّن ُا مْر ُ َل ْ َعن ِ ّ َُم ولٰ ِكن اللّٰهَ حَب َّب ِالَ ْي ُك م ا ِ ْي مَان وزيَّن َ هٗ ِ ْي‬
ُ ْ َِ ‫ل اَللّٰف ِه ۭ ل ََو يُ َطِ ْي عُكُم‬‫ُو‬ ‫قوا ْ ْ َمُوا ْ ا َن ِ ْيكم رس‬
ِ‫ّ ش‬ ٍ ْ ‫ُُ فَُ ل‬ َ
Ċ‫ۙ۝‬ ‫كهُ م الر ِدون‬ ٰ
َ ‫اناو ل ِٕٕىِـ‬ ۭ َ‫ُلُوب ِ ُك م و َكرّهَ ِالَ ْيكم الْ كْر وا ْ ُسُوق والْعِصْي‬
ٰ
And know that among you there is the Messenger of Allah. If he obeys you in
many a matter, you will certainly fall into hardship. But Allah has endeared to you
the Faith, and made it beautiful in your hearts, and made detestable to you the
disbelief and sins and disobedience. Such people are rightly guided,
‫فضاًل ِّم َن هّٰللا ِ َونِ ْع َمةً ۭ َوهّٰللا ُ َعلِ ْي ٌم َح ِك ْي ٌم‬
Ď‫۝‬ ْ
َ ْ ‫غ‬ ْ ‫ ق ت ت ف ص ن ف‬Wise.
Through grace from Allah and His favour; and Allah is Knowing,
‫خ َ فق ت‬ َ ‫ن‬ َ ‫ف‬ ‫َ ْ ئ‬
‫وإِن تطَا ِ َت َِان م ت فِن ا ْلمُ َؤْمِ ِين ا ْ َ َلُوا ف َأَ ْ ْلِ فحُوا ب َ َ ْي َهُ ْمَا ف َإ ِن ب َ َت إِحْداهُ ْمَا َعلَ َىق اأْلُ ْرى َّ َ َا ِلُوا‬
‫ص‬ ‫غ‬
َ‫الَّت ِ ُ ّي َب ْ ِقي حَت َّ َى َ ِيء إِلَى أَمْر ِاللَّ ِه َإ ِن َاءت َأَ ْلِحُوا ب َ ْي نهَُمَا ب ِالْعَد ِل وأَ ْسِ طُوا إِن اللَّه‬
 ﴾49:9﴿ ‫يُحِب ا ْل ُم ْسِ طِين‬
If two parties of the believers happen to fight,   make peace between them.
But then, if one of them transgresses against the other, fight the one that
transgresses until it reverts to Allah’s command.  And if it does revert,
make peace between them with justice, and be equitable for Allah loves the
equitable. 
 ﴾49:10﴿ ‫حوا َب ْي َن أَ َخ َويْ ُك ْم َو َّات ُقوا اللَّهَ لَ َعلَّ ُك ْم ُت ْر َح ُمو َن‬ ِ ‫إِنَّما الْم ْؤ ِمنُو َن إِ ْخوةٌ فَأ‬
ُ ‫َصل‬
ْ َ ُ َ
(49:10) Surely the believers are none but brothers unto one another, so set
things right between your brothers, and have fear of Allah that you may be
shown mercy.
Al Furqan
ِ ‫ض هونًا وإِ َذا خاطَبهم اجْل‬ ِ َّ ِ
)63( ‫اهلُو َن قَالُوا َساَل ًما‬َ ُ ُ َ َ َ ْ َ ِ ‫ين مَيْ ُشو َن َعلَى اأْل َْر‬
َ ‫اد الرَّمْح َ ِن الذ‬
ُ َ‫َوعب‬
The (true) servants of the Merciful are those *78 who walk humbly on the
earth *79 who, when the ignorant people behave insolently towards them,
say,"Peace to you
  ﴾25:64﴿ ‫ين يَبِيتُو َن لَِربِّ ِه ْم ُس َّج ًدا َوقِيَ ًاما‬ ِ َّ
َ ‫َوالذ‬
(25:64) who pass their nights in prostrating themselves and standing before
their Lord: 

 ﴾25:65﴿ ‫َّم إِ َّن َع َذ َاب َها َكا َن غَ َر ًاما‬ ْ ‫اص ِر‬ ِ َّ

َ ‫اب َج َهن‬
َ ‫ف َعنَّا َع َذ‬ ْ ‫ين َي ُقولُو َن َر َّبنَا‬
َ ‫َوالذ‬
(25:65) who pray, "Our Lord, save us from the torment of Hell, for its
torment is killing:

 ﴾25:66﴿ ‫ت ُم ْسَت َق ًّرا َو ُم َق ًاما‬ َ ‫إَِّن َها َس‬

ْ ‫اء‬

(25:66) it is an evil abode and an evil resting place": *82

َ ِ‫َم َي ْقُت ُروا َو َكا َن َب ْي َن َذل‬
 ﴾25:67﴿ ‫ك َق َو ًاما‬ ْ ‫ين إِ َذا أَْن َف ُقوا ل‬
ْ ‫َم يُ ْس ِرفُوا َول‬
ِ َّ
َ ‫َوالذ‬
(25:67) who, when they spend, are neither extravagant nor miserly but
keep the golden mean between the two (extremes):
