Pennsylvania. It explained why the colonies under the Kingdom of Great Britain regarded

themselves as independent states and not under British rule. The declaration for independence

had the states taking a collective step towards forming the current United States of America.

Thomas Jefferson scripted the declaration for independence. He earned his reputation as

an expressive voice of the people's rights. The Americans are seen to have a convincing moral

and historical case by the way they endorsed Thomas Jefferson to produce a draft of what would

be the final document of the declaration of independence. The declaration of independence had

five subdivisions. Its introduction effectively stated why seeking independence from Britain was

necessary. The body outlined grievances against the British power over them. The preamble, on

the other end, stated people are endowed with unchallengeable rights by their creator. Among

those rights are liberty, life and happiness and that to protect those rights, the government should

derive its power from the consent of the people they govern. The process of its consideration and

revision took place at the continental congress, after which the congress adopted the declaration

for independence (Welter & Wills, 1979).

Thomas Paine, who was a writer through Common Sense, did his work demanding that

America should have its independence from Britain. He shaped public opinions and garnered

support for independence. He wrote his work plainly so that everybody could understand and

made it available for a large audience. He expressed how society was free with no government

since the government was a necessary evil and advocated for his county's independence

(Makens, 2012). His work's publication came out when Britain declined America's plea for

independence and resulted in hostility towards them. Before the declaration of America's

independence, the British worried about how King George would respond towards the unrest that

would arise after that.

The declaration for independence acted as an important landmark in democracy's history.

Adding to the significance of fledging the American nation's fate, it exerted an incredible impact

outside the United States, like the French revolution. The declaration of independence is among

the vital founding documents of the US government.
