PROJECT PROPOSAL: HEALTHY COOKING SEMINAR/DEMO

1. Project Title
“Kumain ng Masustansya para Lahat ay Masaya” #EatHealthyLiveHappy

2. Project Duration
The project will be implemented on Wednesday and Thursday, April 15 & 16, 2020,
from 10:00 am to 12:00nn

3. Project Scope
The project will be conducted at Barangay Masaya Covered Court, San Lorenzo, Laguna

4. Project Status
This is an ongoing project to be continued by the proponents.

5. Project Beneficiaries
The direct beneficiaries of the project are the children of the community while their
families, relatives, friends, and visitors may indirectly benefit from it.

6. Project Background
The Department of Health has been advocating the healthy food intake in line with the
Sangkap Pinoy program. Good nutrition is an important part of leading a healthy lifestyle.
Combined with physical activity, healthy and balanced dietary intake can help people reach
and maintain a healthy weight, reduce your risk of chronic diseases (like heart disease and
cancer), and promote your overall health. The problem started after reviewing the data
provided by the health center, barangay nutrition scholar: there are few children who were
identified underweight. This can also address the need to provide healthy food provided by
the mothers to their children.

7. Project Justification
Based on the on-hand data from the community diagnosis, malnutrition and parasitism on
children are two of the existing health problems in Barangay Masaya. Such condition poses
multiple risks and problems form the children’s health status, their growth and
development, up to the financial capabilities of their families in order to treat possible
diseases arising from them. In line with this, the project aim to educate the households in
preparing simple but healthy food options for their children.

8. Project Objective
The main objective of this project is to develop menu of nutritious meals that can be easily
prepared and with cheap and readily available ingredients in the community which will
help mothers for their daily food preparation.

9. Project Description
The project will be implemented through a seminar/cooking class for each household
representative. Assessment and identification of community data will be performed prior
to the project. The discussion will focus on healthy eating habits and imparting of easy-to-

prepare healthy recipes. The members will then reinforce the teachings done by conducting
a simple classroom-style return demonstration with the select representatives.

The members of FEU-IN BSN 401 – Group 2 will implement the project. Total of 11
