Important note!

BEFORE MOUNTING PROPELLER AND GEAR FLANGE,

DO CLEAN THE FLANGE JOINT CAREFULLY WITH WHITE SPIRIT OR
SIMILAR CLEANING FLUID.

USE ADHESIVE GREASE INSIDE FLANGES BEFORE MOUNTING.

BEFORE SEA-TRAIL IT IS NECESSARY CHECKING MOVEMENT OF

BAR FOR ENGAGE / DISENGAGE THE CLUTCH. IT MUST BE
PROPERLY ENGAGED.

AFTER 50 HOURS THE CLUTCH MUST BE ADJUSTED.

TROLLING DAMAGES THE CLUTCH PLATES.

Recommended oil
Oil quantity : 5 litre

Lube oil for AGF:

Shell : Tellus T 100
Statoil : Hydraway HVXA 100
Esso : Univis N100
Mobil : DT 18M

Oil change:
First time : after 100 hours
Change interval : 2000 hours or once a year

Control of the oil-pressure

The oil-pressure should be 18kp/cm2 (bar).

The oil-pressure can be measured by replaceing the plug shown in Pos.20 drawing 3-4806, with a
manometer (R1/8” thread).
To measure the pressure the cylinder has to be in end-position (front or rear). For this to happen the end-
stop screws shown in Pos.14 drawing 3-4806 must be removed.

To adjust the pressure loosen the nut (pos.6 drawing 3-4814) on the pressure-valve, and tight or loosen
the adjustment screw Pos.7 drawing 3-4814.
One revolution on the screw should be equal whit 1.5 kp/cm2.

Maintenance

Adjusting the clutch

The clutch is adjusted by pulling the spring-loaded locking bolt Fig.1 Pos.1 (Also: Pos.10 drawing
3-4800).The locking bolt is to be fastened in the outer position by inserting a small pin through the
hole on the locking bolt.

When the locking bolt is locked in

the outer position you can turn the
adjustment ring Fig.1 pos.2 (drawing
3-4800) to the right (seen from
behind) to tighten the clutch, and to
the left to slacken it.

After the adjusting you must release

the locking bolt and turn a little on Fig.1
the adjustment ring so that the locking bolt slips into a groove.

Periodic inspection

Lubrication and oil change control

Daily
 Check the oil quantity in the gear, the level to be between the marks on the dipstick.
 In case there is water in the boat, you ought to check for water in the oil, this appears as
grey colour of the oil.

Every 25 working hours

 Lubricate the reversing bearing nipple (Pos.2 drawing 3-4813).

Every 1000 working hours

 Lubricate the connection shaft nipple (Pos.3 drawing 3-4812.)
Note! There is also a nipple in the lower end of the connection shaft (Pos.9 drawing
3-4812) this is inside of the gear so that the cover on the port side (Pos.7 drawing 3-4812)
must be removed.
 Lubricate the slide ring (Pos.6 drawing 3-4800).
You get to the nipple by loosening the top hatch (Pos.13 drawing 3-4812).
 Lubricate the seal rings for output shaft in the gear (Pos.6 drawing 3-4804).

Every 2000 working hours

 Change oil in the gearbox, the oil must be drained by the plug (Pos.12 drawing 3-4812),
and refilling by the oil-cap (Pos.14 drawing 3-4811)
