INTRODUCTION
Hotels are an important component of the tourism industry. The Concise Oxford Dictionary defines a
hotel as a house of accommodation of paying travellers. According to the Webster’s Dictionary (1978
a building or institution providing lodging, meals and service for the people is termed a hotel.

Classification of hotels as per star category:

Star Category Hotels: - 5 Star, 4 Star, 3 Star, 2 Star & 1 Star

Classification of hotels based on level of service:

World class service/luxury hotels- These are also called luxury/ Five Star hotels, they target top
business executives, entertainment celebrities, high ranking political figures, and wealthy clientele as
their primary markets. They provide upscale restaurants and lounges, Valet, concierge services and
also private dining facilities

Mid-Range Service - Hotels offering mid-range or otherwise 3 to 4 star hotels service appeal the
largest segment of the travelling public. This kind of hotels does not provide elaborate service and
have an adequate staffing. They also provide uniformed service, food and beverage room service, in
room entertainment's and also Wi-Fi etc.

Budget/ Limited Service- These hotels provide clean, comfortable, safe, inexpensive rooms and
meet the basic need of guests. Budget hotels appeal primarily to budget minded travellers who
wants a room with minimum services and amenities required for comfortable stay, without
unnecessary paying additional cost for costly services.

AIM & OBJECTIVES:

AIM OF THE PROJECT:
The aim of the thesis is to design a Five star hotel with unique spaces having World class services" to
the tourists and the business travellers which are coming from different cities and countries and
creating a landmark for the Gujarat.

OBJECTIVES:
 To create a building that has a close connection with natural surrounding and stand out as
an iconic building.
 To design a luxurious Five Star Hotel as per the urban design guidelines and development
control regulations.
 To design an energy efficient building through proper orientation, building material,
envelope design and landscaping.
 To provide the best hotels. while promoting functional efficiency of spaces and circulation.
SCOPE OF THE STUDY:
 To develop a effective spaces in the hotel which could becomes a perfect
place of living, meeting, as well as recreation for the people in the city.
 To analyze and give solutions to the problems that the city & the piligrams
are facing in terms of the accommodation and & their effective utilization
as well.
 To develop the facilities & the amenities at the five star hotel complex
which could serve the people in the most functional way & also to create
a perfect ambience, so that people tends to visit more & more there.

LIMITATIONS
 The design is limitless in design depth, detailing work such as service
detailing, building construction detailing and interior design.
