Cat eyes

INFO:

This time I come with something unusual – not a complete amigurumi pattern but with 2
versions of crocheted amigurumi eyes for a cat, tiger, lion… I’m sure you know exactly how you will
use them. I needed them for the cat.

To make the eyes presented in this pattern I used YarnArt Jeans yarn and 2.2mm hook, these
eyes are about 3cm wide. You should choose the hook matching your yarn, just remember it doesn’t
have to be so tight as the rest of amigurumi parts. You can even use 3mm hook for this yarn.

I would love to see your works, you can show me them on my Facebook group “OrlicaCraft
Designs” (here you can also find some help or see my other patterns) or just tag me while publishing
your picture. This pattern is free and available to download only via my blog OrlicaCraft.blogspot.com
– let me know, if you reached it another way.

Happy Crocheting!

 hook matching your yarn
 needle, scissors

ABBREVIATIONS:
 MR – magic ring

1. Start with iris colour. Make 6sc in MR, then working in rounds 6 times 2sc in 1 stitch (12
in total). 1 sc in the next stitch, finish it attaching the white yarn by pulling it through two
loops of unfinished sc, like in the picture.

2. Use white yarn and make – 2sc in 1 stitch, 1sc, 2hdc in 1 stitch, 2dc in 1 stitch, 2hdc in 1
stitch, [1sc, 2sc in 1 stitch]*3, 1sc, 1ss. Finish off.

3. Use a needle to pull the white thread to the back of the eye, like in the picture.

4. In the back side, tie together both iris colour yarn ends and cut them short. Tie
together white yarn ends too, cut only one of them. Leave several centimeters of the other
one.

5. Attach the black yarn in the inner eye’s corner (opposite to the elongate part), leave
several centimeters of the yarn at the beginning.

6. Work the whole eye around with slip stitches, in the second dc make 1ss, ch1, 1ss. Slip
stitches shouldn’t be too tight.

7. Use a needle to pull the end of the black thread to the back of the eye through the
middle of the first ss, like in the picture.

8. Use the beginning of the black yarn to embroider the pupil as a vertical line, make it 3-4
times.

9. Use the end of the white yarn to embroider the reflexes on the pupil, 2 lines two the
reflex. Remember to make the mirror version on the other eye.

10. Tie together the end of the white yarn with the shorter thread of the black yarn and
cut it shortly. Leave one long black thread for sewing the eye to the head of your amigurumi.

in total). In the 3rd round - [1sc, 2sc in 1 stitch]*3, 1ss (only 7 stitches used in this round).

2. Use a needle to pull the thread to the back of the eye. Tie both ends together and cut it
shortly.

3. Attach the white yarn in the last sc of the iris (not in the ss!).

4. Use the white yarn to make: 1ss, 1sc, 2hdc in 1 stitch, 2dc in 1 stitch, 1hdc in 1 stitch,
1sc, 1ss.

5. Finish off; use a needle to pull the thread to the back of the eye through the next stitch.
Tie both ends together and cut one of them shortly; leave several centimeters of the 2nd one.

6. Attach the black yarn in the inner eye’s corner (opposite to the elongate part), leave
several centimeters of the yarn at the beginning.

7. Work the whole eye around with slip stitches, in the second dc make 1ss, ch1, 1ss. Slip
stitches shouldn’t be too tight.

8. Use a needle to pull the end of the black thread to the back of the eye through the
middle of the first ss, like in the picture.

The eyes are finished!

Whose head will they decorate? :)
