Jim Gaffigan was born on July 7, 1966 in Chesterton Indiana. He grew up in a

conservative family. In his family had standards of which if you worked shirt and tie job you

were considered to be a success. He wanted to go into entertainment from a early age. At the

age of five he announced to his family that he wanted to become and actor. Then when he

turned twenty-four, he moved from his home in Indiana to New York city in 1990. He moved

there for advertising, but he had a love to making people laugh and standup comedy. His friend

had dared him to do a stand-up show and he ended up loving it. He started to do more stand

up in the city and steadily stared to work his way up the ladder. And then in 1993 Jim landed his

first major talk show with David letterman. Letterman was so impressed with Jim first

performance that he offered to give Jim a tv show in his production company. Though the show

was cancelled after the first season it was critically acclaimed. After the David Letterman show

Jim’s career took off and he started showing up on tv and doing big stand up comedy routines.

He would make appearances in many different tv shows following like That’s 70s Show, Sex in

the City, Third Watch, and Law and Order. Jim has also had a bunch of stand up shows on

comedy central thought the years. He has won a couple of awards during his time on tv he won

three daytime Emmy awards in his career one in in 2016 for most outstanding morning program
and in 2019 for the same thing. He has also won the award for concert comedian of the year by

the American comedy awards in 2014. But Jim is probably best known for his standup comedy.

His most know comic routine is the skit that he has on hot pockets. He goes on talking about

how hot pockets are good and bad and a lot of people think it is hilarious He is a mostly clean

comic so in his acts he does not curse that often and his shows are usually family friendly. And

almost all of his material is about food, being lazy, or being a father. Gaffiagn got married in

2003 to Jeannie Noth in New York city. They later have five children together three boys and

two girls. The kids names are Marre who was born in 2005, Katie Louise born in 2009, then his

son jack who was born in 2006 , Michel who was born in 2011, and then there is Patrick who

was born in 2012. As you can see, he has a pretty big family. And that is where he gets a lot of

his material from. He gets it from his kids and what happens to him during his day to day life.

Though the years Jim really hasn’t been into many controversies since he is a clean comic he

does not get himself into trouble. And since a lot of his topics are about food and being lazy not

many people get offended by them and a lot of people like them. Jim Gaffigan is still doing his

stand up comedy to this day. He was supposed to go on a tour around the world this year in

2020 but due to the corona virus it had been cancelled. But he is not over yet he is staring to do
