A: Hello Student B. How are you?

B: Not bad. Thanks. How about you?
A: I’m great, thanks. It’s been a long time, what have you been up to?
B: I know. I haven’t been around for a while, but I’m back. I was traveling around the world
because I wanted to learn about the different cultures and meet new people.
A: Really? I’d love to go to Egypt…

SCRIPT

A: Hello! How have you been? I haven’t seen you for a long time.
B: Hello, fine thank you, and how about you?
A: I have been traveling a lot.
B: Where have you traveled?
A: I have traveled to Europe.
B: Which place did you visit first?
A: First I visited Germany.
B: Which airline did you traveled on?
A: I traveled on the Lufthansa airline.
B: And in which aircraft did you traveled to Germany?
A: In an Airbus 340.
B: Can you describe it?
A: Of course, the A340 is a wide-body airliner, it is a four-engine aircraft, it has jet engines, it
has a low wing attachment, it has a retractable landing gear and it has a tricycle landing
gear.
B: Amazing! And what is your favorite airplane?
A: My favorite airplane is the Boeing 777.
B: Can you compare these airplanes?
A: Yes, the A340 is longer than the B777.
The B777 is more fuel-efficient than the A340.
The A340 is safer than the B777.
B: And have you ever flown in the B777?
A: No, I haven’t flown in a B777.
B: For your next trip you should look for an airline that has B777 in its fleet in order to have
the experience of flying in your favorite airplane.
A: Thanks for the advice, I will keep it in mind.
B: How was flying in an A340?
A: It was really amazing, especially the take-off.
B: Why?
A: Because when the airplane took off from the El Dorado airport, the pilots cannot fly over
the city at the time of the flight, I guess because of the noise abatement.
B: Wasn't there something weird about the flight?
A: I was eating when the captain told us that we must detour due to bad weather, the ATC
told the crew that they had better to change course for avoiding turbulence. So I stopped

eating so that cabin crew could secure the cabin.

B: So, what SID did they use for the departure?
A: What does SID stand for?
B: It stands for Standard Instrument Departure.
A: They used the Zipaquirá 2B SID.
B: And how was the transatlantic flight in the A34O cabin?
A: It was really good, the cabin was very comfortable because you can turn your seat into a
bed. But, due to bad weather, the captain said that our flight time could be increased.
B: And how was the arrival in Frankfurt?
A: It was very nice, because the airport is located next to the downtown on its right, and this
airport is very crowded because the plane had to queue to get to the gate. When we were
taxiing towards the gate, an A380 touched down on the runway next to us.
B: And what did you do there?
A: I visited the Stadel museum and the Westend Tower.
B: What rules do these places have?
A: For example, in the Stadel museum you mustn’t take photos to the art works, and you
mustn’t eat in that place.
B: I am very happy for you. And tell me, where do you live now?
A: I live in El Poblado in an apartment with my dogs.
B: And do you like that neighborhood?
A: Yes, I like it.
B: Didn’t they come with you?
A: No, they are at home, they were sleeping when I came to the downtown.
B: I am glad to see you, these days we keep talking.
A: See you soon, bye!
