Hiring Manager’s Name

Hiring Manager’s Title
United Nations Headquarters
760 United Nations Plaza
New York City, NY 10017

Dear Hiring Manager:

I am writing to apply for the United Nations Young Professionals Programme. Representing
Vietnam as a young delegate in the General Assemble at the UN is a wonderful opportunity that
perfectly fits my professional experience, personal pursuits, and career goals.

I am finishing my senior year at Texas Christian University as an Economics and Environmental

Studies double major, graduating as an Honors Chancellor Scholar with a 3.95 GPA. During my
time at TCU, I established and led GreenTeens, a green social enterprise that produces eco-
friendly products and promotes sustainable lifestyles. I wanted to take advantage of both the
market efficiency of profit ventures and the empathy of nonprofits. Leading this team helped me
realize how intersectional collaborations build enduring businesses by utilizing technical abilities
and transferable skills to adapt and thrive. This experience helped me foster an interdisciplinary
learning experience and cultivate interpersonal skills, which are critical competencies to work
and contribute to a value-driven international organization.

Prior to TCU, I was the founder of Tohe – a Vietnamese social enterprise which facilitates
creative playgrounds where disadvantaged children can learn and experience art; in turn, the
children’s artwork is used as prints for lifestyle products. I was most proud of the fact that
Tohe’s profits are reinvested into the art development program, an inspiration for me to continue
setting development goals that make profit and drive positive social change and environmental
sustainability at the same time.

Most recently, I am completing the final stages of my research on Development Economics

during my exchange semester at the National University of Singapore. The experience has
provided me with hands-on experience to broaden my global perspective. Directly engaging in
the economic and social developments in Southeast Asia while fostering invaluable connections
helped deepen my understanding on achieving lasting social change with a balance between
philanthropy and financial viability.

I have attached my resume, which further details my skills and educational background. I look
forward to the opportunity to speak with you further; please do not hesitate to contact me via
email at minh.ngoc.h.to@tcu.edu or by phone at (682) 340-5199. Thank you for your time and
consideration.

Sincerely,

Minh Ngoc H. To
