Regular Dates in Excel

How to Align Text Vertically Press "Ctrl-N" to create a new Adobe InDesign document. In the New
and Horizontally in InDesign Document dialog box, set up a legal-sized page in portrait orientation
with half-inch margins on all four edges. Click on the "OK" button to
create your file.

Step 2

Press "F" to activate the Rectangle Frame tool. Click once on your document page to open the
Rectangle dialog box. Enter the desired width for an individual month's calendar. Set the height of the

box to twice the width. Click on the "OK" button to proceed.

Step 5 Spreadsheet

Row Separator to "Paragraph." Adobe InDesign creates a table that contains an initial row of column
identifiers followed by six blank rows of cells for dates.

Step 6

Click in one of the cells in the first row of your table. Open the "Table" menu, locate its "Insert"
submenu and choose "Row."

Step 7

Place the Text tool cursor at the left edge of the table row you just inserted. When the cursor changes
to a solid black arrow, click to select the entire row. Open the "Table" menu and choose "Merge Cells"
to create a space for the name of the month. Press "Shift-Ctrl-C" to center the type in the merged cell,
even though no text yet appears there.

Step 8

Select the blank rows below the abbreviated days of the week by selecting the first row and dragging to
extend the selection down. Press "Ctrl-R" to preset the type in these cells so the dates will appear flush
right.

Step 9

Press "V" to switch to the Selection tool. Open the "Object" menu, locate its "Fitting" submenu and
choose "Fit Frame to Content." InDesign reduces the height of your frame so it matches the size of
your table.

Step 10

Open the "Edit" menu and choose "Step and Repeat." Set the repeat count to "1," the horizontal offset
to half the width of your document minus the sum of its margins and the width of your table, and the
vertical offset to "0." Press "OK" to create a duplicate table.

Step 11

Marquee around or Shift-click on the two tables to select both. Open the "Edit" menu and choose "Step
and Repeat." Set the repeat count to "5," the horizontal offset to "0" and the vertical offset to the height
of your tables. Press "OK" to fill the page with duplicates.

Step 12

Click in the first row of the first month's table. Type "January" in the merged row. Use the arrow keys to
navigate to the first date cell used by the month's configuration. Type "1" in that cell and press the "Tab"
key to navigate to the next. Continue typing and tabbing until you enter "31." Typeset the remaining
months using the same methods.

Tips

Switch to the "Type" tool and click in a table cell. Open the "Table" menu, locate its "Table Setup"
submenu and choose "Table Options" to open a multi-tab dialog box in which you can change the table
border, customize row and column borders, fill rows or columns with background color and set
additional parameters.
When you use Step and Repeat, set the offset values before you set the repeat count to avoid an error
message that results when a leftover repeat value from a previous operation would result in too many
duplicates for a new operation in the opposite direction.
Add new rows to the bottom of your month-specific tables so you can incorporate notes.
