PURPOSE
OVERVIEW

WHAT IS ASESMEN NASIONAL (AN)?


▸ National Assessment is a quality assessment program for school.

▸ The quality of school is assessed based on the :


1. results of basic student learning (literacy, numeracy, and character)

2. the quality of the teaching & learning

3. the climate of the educational unit (school) to support learning

▸ Using three main instruments, namely Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum


(AKM), Survey Karakter (SK), and Survey Lingkungan Belajar (SLB).

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF ASESMEN NASIONAL (AN)?

▸ To improve the education quality.

▸ An is designed to produce accurate information to


improve the quality of teaching and learning, which leads
to improvement of student learning outcomes.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE


▸ The Asesmen Nasional (AN) does not determine student’s
graduation.

▸ It is not used to assess students who are participants in the


assessment. The results will not include scores or student’s
marks individually.

▸ AN result will be designed to become a feedback for schools


and MoE

▸ Assessment for student graduation is the authority of educators


and school (Ujian Sekolah)

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE


▸ Participant is all school in Indonesia including SPK school

▸ AN will be followed by some of the selected grade V, grade VIII,


and grade XI (30 students for SD and 45 students for SMP and
SMA). Randomly chosen by the Ministry of Education and
Culture.

▸ The AN will also be followed by all teachers and heads of schools.

▸ Information from students, teachers, and heads of schools are


expected to give a complete information about the quality of the
teaching and learning process in school.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE

▸ AN does not replace the role of the UN in evaluating


student achievement or learning outcomes. However, AN
replaces the role of the UN as a source of information for
education quality mapping.

NOTE : SBL for teachers and head of schools has flexible time, online mode, without supervision and
4 days to complete the SLB instrument

TECHNICAL IMPLEMENTATION
▸ Simulation -> familiarise with the application

▸ Technicality -> no more synchronisation, no need to upload the


student’s answer to central server

▸ The rules for AN implementation in schools will be outlined in


more detail inside National Assessment Standard Operational
Procedure (POS). (not yet released)

▸ The success of AKM is not through the process of drilling


questions. The School needs to encourage their student
development of competence and character.

AFTER AN

▸ The school is expected to make the results of the AN as a


means of reflection to improve the learning quality and
school climate that support learning.

▸ The results of AN, will be reported as a school result and


not reported as an individual report of students and
teachers who take part in the assessment.
