Case Study
Overview
This document was created for the purpose of conducting a case study
interview for the position Site Project Engineer.

Candidates are required to make the necessary preparations prior to the date
of interview.

Candidates are welcome to ask clarifying questions regarding the case study.

Candidates should prepare a brief presentation (5 – 15 minutes) to present

findings and their answers.

Candidates will be assessed on how well they have managed to identify,

break down, and propose to resolve the challenge.
Case Study (a)
Urban Development Co. has just launched a new project in an
exciting and upcoming part of town.

You have been appointed as the new Project Engineer to look over
the drawings and plan out the required elements on site.

Information about the project can be found in part (b).

In part (c) you will be faced with some situational challenges that
need your solution(s).
Case Study (b)
You are required to lookover the drawing of an example landed
project attached and prepare a proposal.

Your proposal is to decide on where is the best location to place

the required spaces below :
Steel bar yard Temporary current supply
Carpentry yard Water supply (routing & tapping point)
Site office Workers' toilets
Material storage Kongsi placement

The subcon keeps delaying our progress and is not able to perform the way
we want, as the project's engineer, what is your action plan to deal with this
issue?

You catch one of the workers adding water into the mixed concrete, what is
your next action?
