Physiology

Main Idea
Exercise physiology is the study of both the functional changes that occur in response to a
single session of exercise and the adaptations that occur as a result of regular, repeated
exercise sessions.

Supporting Details
Exercise initially disrupts homeostasis.
Heart rate is one of the easiest factors to monitor that shows both an immediate response to
exercise and long-term adaptation to a regular exercise program.
