Scope

This specification covers the minimum requirements for furnishing all labor, material and services
in connection with the design, fabrication, factory testing, and documentation, tagging and shipping
for pH Analyzer, required for “Antamina Expansion Program”.

The Vendor shall furnish all instruments listed on data sheets for pH analyzers, including any
accessories required to ensure accurate, safe, continuous and reliable operation.

Design, function and satisfactory performance of the entire system and all its components and
accessories are the Vendor’s responsibility.

All materials of construction for all components and accessories, including spares, shall be new,
suitable for the service and duty and shall meet the requirements of codes and regulations as
specified under Paragraph 3.0 of this specification.

The climatic conditions at the plant are specified in, "Site Conditions" 104-08655-000-CDD-M-003.
The Vendor shall notify if the climatic conditions available are not adequate for the proposed
system.

Operating Conditions

Each device furnished under this specification shall be suitable for continuous operation 24 hours
per day, 7 days per week, 52 weeks per year, in a dusty or wet atmosphere containing grit and
micron sized particles and shall perform satisfactorily under environmental and operating
conditions specified in the attached instrument data sheets.

The instruments shall be designed for continuous operation at the elevation and ambient
temperatures ranging detailed in “Site Conditions”.

Each instrument shall be Vendor’s standard, heavy duty field proven designed with a record of
successful operation in industrial environments as required for the application specified.

Available plant electrical power supply will be 120 Volts AC. 60 Hz. Power supplies shall be both
input and output fused and solid state components to be used through out. Vendor shall state in
his proposal power requirements.

All electrical and electronic field instruments shall have clamp type terminal blocks or screw
terminals.

The electric components shall have clamp type terminal blocks or screw terminals. Terminals shall
be clearly marked with L, N, G for power supply, +, -, G for analogue signal, or other mark
proposed by the instrument Vendor.

The enclosures shall be waterproof and dust proof and shall comply with NEMA 4, NEMA 4X
according to data sheets.

Electrical area classification shall be non-hazardous unless otherwise is stated in the data sheets.

In case there are discrepancies between this specification and the applicable codes or standards,
the applicable code or standard shall supersede and the Purchaser is informed in writing by the
Vendor of such discrepancies.

In case there are discrepancies between this specification and the data sheet, the data sheet shall
supersede.

Technical Requirement

The probe shall be glass type with two electrodes, one for process potential measurement, and the
other for reference with temperature compensation. The probe shall have a ceramic diaphragm
membrane for the reference electrode and shall have glass interface for the process electrode.

The type of probe holders for the measurement of pH (hydrogen ion concentration) and the wetted
materials should be best suited for the application.

The probe holder mounting configuration, on/in the process equipment, shall allow for easy access
and retrieval of the probe holder for frequent service and calibration work.

Probe cables shall be furnished for the Vendor. The extension cables shall be according to Data
Sheet.

The transmitter output signal shall be an isolated 4-20 mA dc signal with HART protocol, which
shall have a variable load handling capability of at least 500 Ohms or field bus as specified on the
Data Sheets.

The transmitters shall be furnished with integral LCD digital indicator and shall display the variable
according to the corresponding output range, as specified on the Data Sheets.

The transmitters shall have a flat mounting bracket for installation in a two-inches pipe or wall
according to specified on data sheets and shall supply connection cables between sensor and
transmitter.

The Vendor shall include in the supply the necessary equipment for the periodic and automatic
cleaning of the probe.

Performance requirement (linearity, repeatability and accuracy) shall be as specified on the Data
Sheets.

Selection of the ranges and local configuration of parameters shall be available by means of an
integral keypad and/or by digital communication to terminal or control system.

The transmitter operation shall be unaffected by radio-frequency and electromagnetic interference

signals.

Transmitter shall be factory calibrated to the range indicated on Data Sheets. Vendor shall supply
calibration certificates.

Shall be included 3 buffer solutions for calibration within the pH specified range.

The pH probe shall be remote of transmitter, and the header of probe housing shall be designed
NEMA 4X, in addition to, the cable inputs on the header shall be for ¾ inches.

Assembly, Inspecting and Testing

The manufacturer shall shop-assemble all instruments and components, provide its own quality
control inspection, and shall perform all testing required to demonstrate that the instrument is in full
compliance with the specifications and is completely operable.

The manufacturer shall perform calibration and/or configuration of all instruments according to the
ranges or data indicated in the attached data sheets. Calibration and/or configuration certificate
shall deliver with each instrument.

The instrument shall be shipped to the jobsite completely assembled. If this is not feasible, Vendor
shall so state in his proposal and shall describe the extent of assembly proposed; in such cases, all
parts shall be match-marked to facilitate field assembly.
