Monday, July 4, 2011
Steps & Tips for Resizing 1. Decide what is the equivalent size of the head. Write it on your plate. ex: 1 head = 1 inch; 1 head = 3/4 inch; 1 head = 1.5 inch 2. Draw the vertical and horizontal guidelines with the head count. 3. The head count marking of the vertical line begins with the top of the head. For the horizontal line, it begins from the left most part of the body going to the right. 4. Plot positions of body parts based on traced material. 5. Use the additional guidelines to plot the position of specific parts - elbow arc, knee & ankle guidelines. 6. Retain the shape of the head. Mark the center and eye level. 7. Remember to elongate the following parts: NECK, TORSO, ARMS & LEGS. 8. Remember to make the fashion figure slimmer. You may slim down the ff: WAIST, NECK, HIPS, ARMS & LEGS. 9. For foreshortened parts, estimate the elongation and size adjustments.
