THE USE OF MATHEMATICS IN ENGINEERING

Mathematics is indeed essential in engineering. Because together with physics, mathematics helped
engineer to develop and evolve. To name a few, linear algebra, calculus, statistics, differential equations
and numerical analysis are important to engineering because they are the key to understand the
engineering subjects such as fluid mechanics, heat transfer, electric circuits, mechanics of materials etc.
Mathematics makes engineering to be more fascinating as it is now. For example, in chemical
engineering math is used to show kinetic modeling, diffusion/reaction problems, computational fluid
dynamics etc. See figures below for example.

THE USE OF MATHEMATICS IN FINANCE/BUSINESS

We all know that mathematics is used in financial/business in order to track the revenue and see if the
business is successful or not. But according to scirptorg.com, mathematics is useful in financial/business
because of differential game method, capital asset model, stochastic optimal control theory as well. Due
to the fact that our economy is not constant and continuing to innovate, differential game method is
essential to relax the hypothesis of option pricing theory. Capital asset model is using a rigorous
mathematical tools, this theory is essential for investors so they can make investment choices.
Stochastic optimal control theory on the other hand is important as well because it is helping investors
to solve financial problems and they can execute this theory using mathematics. With that being said
mathematics is indeed useful in modern financial analysis.
