I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the 60-minute class, the students will be able to:

A. (Cognitive) Explain the origin, history, facts, and European perspectives of Asia through oral
recitations,
B. (Psychomotor) Make a poem in English about the importance and application of concepts
learned in Asia in real life through a 1-2 minute audio record (podcast) and upload it on spotify,
C. (Affective) and record a 3-minute skit showcasing the appreciation of culture though
differentiating Ancient Asia to modern Asia and upload it in Wix.

II. SUBJECT MATTER


A. Topic: Concepts of Asia
B. Instructional Materials: Laptop, projector, powerpoint presentation, video

III. PROCEDURE
Prayer before the class.
Reading of the objectives.

A. INTRODUCTION
1. MOTIVATION – NAME THE ACCENT

The class will be divided into 4 groups through head count. The groups will have 1
representative for each round or question as they try to guess the name of the country that the
accent is located.
Using podcast, the recorded voice message of a person from another country will be played and
the student representatives from groups 1-4 will have to guess the accent. One correct answer
is equivalent to 1 point. The group that has the highest score will be declared as a winner.

Countries – Indian, Japanese, Turkish, Indonesian, Thai, Chinese, Filipino, and Korean
2. PROCESS QUESTIONS:

A. Do you think they are from a certain region in the world?


B. What have you noticed with all of the accent?
C. What comes into your mind when we say Asia?
D. Do you think Asia was the first civilization to thrive? Why or why not?

B. INTERACTION
1. LECTURE METHOD
I. Geographical location of Asia
II. Name origin or etymology of Asia
III. Asian Facts and misnomers
IV. European Perspectives of Asia
V. Why study Asia?

The teacher will first explain the geographical location of Asia so that the students will be
familiar with the Asian countries. Then he will discuss the etymology of the word “Asia”. Briefly
followed by the Asian facts where common issues and topics discussed will clarify the
misnomers about Asia. The topic will further delve into European perspectives of Ancient Asia
and it will be topped off with the reasons why students should study Asia and a video from
youtube that encapsulates all the topics discussed.
Powerpoint Presentation & a video will be used during the discussion of the topic. After the
discussion, the teacher will ask the students if they have any questions about the topic and will
answer them if they have any.

2. PROCESS QUESTIONS:
A. In one word, how will you describe Asia?
B. With that new knowledge about Asia, what are your misnomers about Asia which proved
to be wrong?
C. How will you apply your love of culture as an Asian in your life as a student?

C. INTEGRATION
1. CONCLUSION/GENERALIZATION

To conclude the lesson, students will have to go back to their previous group during the
introduction part to create a 4-8 stanza poem rhymed or free showing their learnings in
Concepts of Asia and then one representative has to read it aloud in the class for 1-2 minutes
while recording it using their phones to be edited and uploaded on spotify (streaming &
podcast app) so that others sections could also hear it.

2. ASSIGNMENT

The students still in the same group will be recording a 1-2 minute skit showcasing the
appreciation of culture though differentiating Ancient Asia to modern Asia and upload it in the
Wix student website.

Conciseness and correctness of information – 10%
Team Collaboration - 10%
Video & Audio Quality - 10%
Total 30 points
