Visual Representation

For the visual representation, I chose to do a blackout using a page from the book Dear Martin.
In my opinion this page represented the beginning of Justyce’s reason to start writing to Martin
Luther, and gave him a sad reality of the world. When implementing this book into my class, I
would first do an informal check to ensure that this will not trigger anyone in class. For the
visual representation I would want students to pick a page that connected to them, and circle
7-10 words that stuck out to them. They would then blackout the rest of the page, and can add a
visual like I did. Students would then go in small groups and orally explain why they chose their
page and show their visuals.
