In Spoken English the most important word of a semantic group is the stressed one. They often
appear at the en of a semantic group.
A semantic group is a group of words that conveys certain information to complete the thought
in the sentence. This information can be easily isolated from the others to analyze its lexical
function.
Semantic analysis: (Linguistics) The process of relating syntactic structures, from the levels of
phrases, clauses, sentences and paragraphs to the level of the writing as a whole, to their
language-independent meanings, removing features specific to particular linguistic and cultural
contexts, to the extent that such a project is possible.
