ANALYZE

Analyze the routines set by the resource teacher by answering the following
questions.

1. Were the routines useful in maintaining class discipline and order? Why?
Why not?
Routines are useful in maintaining class discipline and order.
Routines allow students to quickly accomplish day-to-day tasks that
required of both the students and teachers. Routines are essential
for stablishing standards, setting expectations, and fostering positive
connections in the classroom. They make it easier for everyone
involve to be on the same page. These established patterns conduct
can, of course, turn out into ruts.

2. Cite any of the classroom management principles by Good and Brophy

which were applied by the teacher
The teacher employs Good and Brophy’s classroom management
principles, and those five (5) principles are used. First is plan rules
before the class starts in advance; the teacher will have rules and
regulations for the students to remember, as well as rules that will
be implemented when they have an activity. Second, establish clear
rules and procedures where needed; before the activity starts, the
teacher will implement the rules before the activity begins, as well as
ensuring that everyone follows them. Third, students assume
responsibility; following the discussion of the lessons, students
assume responsibility for a task that they must complete either
individually or in a group. Fourth, minimize disruption and delay;
they are conducting a virtual class and are minimizing the
interruption and delay in reporting. And lastly, plan independent
activity as well as organized classroom; based on my observations,
they have an organized classroom because everyone is following the
rules and the teacher is appropriately implementing them.

REFLECT
1. How will you establish classroom management in your class?
To establish an effective classroom management, I will make a habit of
demonstrating behavior that I want to see, as many studies show that
modeling effectively teaches students how to act in different situations. I
will also establish positive relationship to my students because it promotes
a sense of school belonging, as well as encourages students to participate
cooperatively. Besides, it helps them to develop the confidence to
experiment and, of course, succeed in learning environment where they are
not restricted by the fear of failure.

OBSERVE

Observe a class and make a list of the Resource Teacher's classroom

rules. List down the importance of those rules as seen below.
Teachers must devote their full attention to numerous responsibilities in order
to ensure good classroom management. Planning classroom management
allows for more effective instruction while also ensuring the safety and well-
being of the students. Building positive relationships with coworkers, parents,
and friends also aids in the achievement of classroom management goals.

A NALYZE

1. How did the teacher involve the students in the development of

classroom procedures and rules? Did the teacher introduce them to the
class? Explain in at least 5 or more sentences.
In the creation of classroom procedures and regulations, students
play an essential role. It starts with a list of the teacher's basic
requirements, and then he collaborates with his students to develop
a set of rules stated in their language through intelligent debate.
Students should be involved in the formulation of classroom
procedures and regulations since they are designed to benefit them.
Students pose questions that pique their interest. Throughout the
session, the teacher validates and allows his students' feedback to
shape experiential teachings. Everyone benefits from asking
questions.
2. Did the teacher assist pupils in internalizing classroom procedures and
norms in order for them to become self-directed learners? Explain in at
least 5 or more sentences.
Yes, in order for his students to become self-directed, the instructor
assists them in internalizing classroom procedures and standards.
The instructor may demonstrate a love for learning by utilizing the
power of your relationship with pupils. As a result, kids are more
likely to have a strong, positive emotional bond with learning, which
will fuel their desire to study more. Students are encouraged to
become self-disciplined learners. Encourage them to make a
commitment to themselves to begin working toward their objectives.
It will almost certainly be essential to remind them on a regular
basis that successful individuals forgive themselves when they make
errors and move on.

REFLECT

Based on your own experience, what classroom rules set by your teacher you
consider effective and what are those you consider lest. Why and Why not?
“Always give your best shot,” is the most effective classroom
guideline in my own point of view. When a student gives something
their best shot, they try their hardest to achieve something or do it
as well as they can. Eventually, I recognized that they were more
than just words; they were a strong statement that could inspire any
student to achieve their best at all times. To me, giving it your best
shot implies doing all possible to attain one's objectives and goals. It
is an attitude to always attach preparation, planning, hard effort,
and devotion to a certain activity, not simply a slogan. And the least
rule that I consider is the “Obey all the rules.” We cannot say that all
rules will be followed or maintained, because most students are
reprimands. Especially in elementary students, most of that age are
those who do not yet understand, so how can you say that those
rules will be kept followed.
Consider the different classroom rules established by the resource Teacher.
Will you follow the same set of rules? What rules will you consistently adopt?
Explain your response.
Yes, I will definitely follow the same set of rules that was established
by the resource teacher and I will consistently adopt most of the
rules that she have used, I can see that the routines are very
applicable. I will start my class with an opening prayer and
greetings, also the checking of attendance. I will never forget to
remind the students about their responsibilities in the rules and
assignments. I can see that the class of my resource teacher is
effective and well managed and wanted it to my future class to
become as effective as my resource teacher has.
