Preinstructional, Assessment, and Follow-Through Activities

PREINSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES
Motivation: Learners attention will be gained with an introduction of the material presented and
how it will be helpful in making their college decision on signing day. Attention will be gained
by showing the learners how completing the material can improve their knowledge in finding if
they fit into Virginia Tech’s culture.
To gain my learners attention I will be showing them a video, images, and present infromation
about Virginia Tech football that directly relates to the football program. I want to give learners a
realistic representation of the importance of the topic to their future and something that will lead
them to having more interest about the culture of the football program. The worth of this
instruction is valuable because it relates to the goals of the athlete of playing college football.
The use of this instruction can be beneficial for the future, but also ensure them to help them
when making their college decisions on signing day. At the end of this lesson learners are
expected to know if they would fit into Virginia Tech’s football program. My learners have total
control over what they do in the instruction and the success will come from the work the learners
put in. Once the instruction is completed, learners will be able to apply this instruction to the real
world and be able make their decision of committing to Virginia Tech.

Objectives: Once the lessons have been completed, the recruits will have a clear view and
understanding of what the culture of Virginia Tech’s football program is.

I will be presenting all 3 of my main objectives to my learners. I will be using more user-friendly
language as this will help my learners comprehend and have a better understanding of what I am
presenting. I will also be presenting my objective using text
ASSESSMENT
Pretest: Learners will complete a questionnaire to find their feelings towards Virginia Tech’s
football program and what they already know about the program. I will test for entry behaviors
as some of my learners could have a different level of knowledge about Virginia Tech’s culture.
If a learner does not possess the entry skills I will give quick hints/tips to quickly get the learner
informed. I will not pretest for skills that I am teaching.

Posttest: The post-test will be a series of questions administered to the learners after they have
finished all the learning material within the lesson.

FOLLOW-THROUGH ACTIVITIES
Memory Aids: The PowerPoint slide instructions, the post-test questions, videos, and images
used in the lessons will be used as memory aids for the learner.

transfer of knowledge into the real world.
