Offensive Philosophy

Out offense will be a fundamentally sound offense that executes at a high level. We
will utilize passing concepts from the West Coast Offense and elements of a power
running system. By using the West Coast Offense, our players will be able to able to
plug in a small number of concepts into various formations. While this multiplicity
is easy for our players and coaches to grasp, it will give our opponents a lot to
prepare for.

Methodology

 Coaches and players will be dedicated to scouting and mentally preparing to

play our opponents
 Effective use of meeting times for installs/scouting reports/film viewing
 Utilize a pre-practice period to block our opponent’s pressures
 Individual periods to teach each position player the correct techniques for
succeeding in our offense
 Skeleton periods to help transition from an individual setting to a more team
oriented period
 Running Skeleton (9 on 7) will be used to practice blocking our opponent’s
favorite fronts and pressures
 Passing Skeleton (7 on7) will be used to practice throwing against our
opponent’s favorite coverages
 Team periods will be used to work as an offensive unit
 Special Cat. Period for throwing against opponent pressures
 Special situation periods (RZ/Nickel Downs/2 Min.)

 No turnovers in a game
 300 yards of total offense (200 passing/100 rushing)
 100% RZ efficiency
 No penalties in a game

Defensive Philosophy
Our defense will be an intimidating unit that won’t back down from any opponent.
We will be fundamentally and structurally sound in every facet of the game. Our
defense will be based out of a 3-4 front, which will allow us to put more athletes and
speed on the field. In addition to playing straight coverage, we will also use a
variety of zone and man pressures. On Nickel Downs and in the Red Zone, we will
be a heavy blitz team in order to place pressure on offenses. Every member of our
defense will swarm to the ball and strive to create turnovers.

 Fundamental circuit which focuses on tackling, pursuit, and creating
turnovers
 Run/Pass Skeleton to practice run fits and coverage against opponent
