SEMI- DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION FOR

GRADE 8

I- OBJECTIVE

At the end of the lesson student should be able to;


 Define what is Philippine Folk Dance and its types
 Identify the different basic step use in Folk Dance specially in feet
and arms position.
 Execute the fundamental positions of feet and arms in folk dance.
 Appreciate the nature beauty of the Philippine folk dance steps.

II- SUBJECT MATTER

Topic: Fundamental position of feet and Arms in Philippine Folk Dance


Reference: Physical Education and Health Book
Materials: Laptop, Printed Pictures, Speaker, Projector
Value: Embracing and Patronizing our own Philippine Cultures and
Traditions

III. PROCEDURE

A. MOTIVATION
1. Students will participate in interactive games
2. Guess Me! (Teacher will shows different pictures wherein the
students will guess and give their insights on it)
3. Teacher will flash a number to call the student to answer the
question shown.

B. PRESENTATION
1. What is folkdance?
2. There are two types of folkdances
 Rural/Occupational ( Tinikling, Itik-itik, Maglalatik)
 Spanish (Carinosa)
3. What are the fundamental positions of feet and arms in
Philippine Folk Dance?
 Feet Position
1st Position- Heels together, toes apart with an angle of 45 degrees.
2nd Position – Astride sideward of about pace or 1 foot distance.
3rd Position – Heels of one foot close to the in- step of the other foot.
4th Position- One foot in front of the other about a pace distance.
5th Position – Heel of Front close to the big toe of the rear foot

 Arms Position
1st Position – Encircle both arms in front of chest with the finger tips about an inch
apart.
2nd Position- Both arms raised sideward with a graceful curve.
3rd Position- One arm raised sideward , the other arm overhead.
4th Position – One arm in a half circle in front other arm raised overhead.
5th Position- Both hands raised overhead.

C. ACTIVITY

1. The Teacher will provide a strips in every group and


perform the chosen positions written in the piece of strips.
Each group will determine and identify what fundamental
positions they executed after the performance activity.

D. APPLICATION
1. Students will be having a comprehensive test( Quiz)
individually about the topic were discussed

IV. EVALUATION
1. The Teacher will group the students by partner to perform and execute the
Fundamental positions of feet and Arms in Philippine Folk Dance

2. Teacher will grade each performance and then when all groups are finished, their
scores and feedbacks will be announced.
Criteria
Mastery 50%
Proper Execution 50%
Total 100%

V. ASSIGNMENT
1. Research and study the Philippine Festivals, its origination, definition and
nature.
