1. How do you promote a healthy lifestyle in the elderly?

Health promotion is the process of enabling people to increase control over,

caregivers stay healthy and deliver quality care to elderly, second it increases early
assessment and diagnosis, third it promotes risk reduction and also prevention of
chronic diseases and etc. There are several ways to promote health in elderly. First,
the elderly are given individual tasks to promote their well-being, these are,
continuing self-development and adopting a healthy lifestyle. There are also tasks
given to family members to help the elderly in health promotion these are, providing
informal support, respecting the elderly's autonomy and lastly to avoid over-
protection. Lastly, tasks are also given to the health care providers, these are,
validating the preventive strategies scientifically, re-evaluating traditional strategies,

Researchers globally have pinpointed some critical lifestyle factors that can

study conducted last 2017 that people who were physically active for 30 minutes five
days a week -- whether walking, doing household chores or gardening can reduce
the risk of having or developing heart diseases. Next, engaging in social activities is
very beneficial, a study conducted in Canada have shown that people who have less
social activities can disrupt sleep, raise blood pressure and increase person's chance
of premature death. Another way is to have a healthy lifestyle, this includes eating
healthy foods and avoiding degrading habits such as smoking, sedentary lifestyle
and alcohol abuse. This also includes the importance of regular exercise. Lastly, a
study conducted in Yale University have shown that older adults who had a positive
attitude towards aging lived more than seven years longer than those with negative
attitude, thus having a positive mind and outlook towards ageing is really important.
