The relative minor of C Major is A Minor, Just like their major cousins, every minor key has three principle chords. The three principle chords in the key of A Minor are Am, Dm, and E7. The lower case “m” in a chord symbol means “minor.” Memorize these new chords and their fingerings. Learn them the same way that you did the chords for the key of C Major on page 15. If any of these chords do not sound clean and ring out the first few times that you strum them do not get discouraged. With time and practice they will begin to sound better.
