(MRIT)., / B.Tech., / B.Pharm., / B.A.LL.B.,/ B.Sc.(Hons) Agriculture / B.Sc.,(Hons) Horticulture
Degree courses & Diploma in Health Science courses (D.G.N.M. / D.A.N.M. / D.M.L.T. /
D.C.E.C. / D.D.T./ D.A.P.T./ D.C.R.A.) offered by the Colleges run by the Government in
Regular mode (Direct & Lateral Entry) and seats offered by Other States are done by the
Centralized Admission Committee (CENTAC), Government of Puducherry.
Admission to the “Government Quota Seats” in Private and Unaided Professional colleges,
including the minority Colleges, will be as per the law/ regulation/ order of Government of India,
or of the Government of Puducherry, on the subject. Admission to the above degree courses is
based on the performance of the candidates in the Higher Secondary or equivalent board
examination.
All Lateral Entry Admissions, except for B.Tech. courses in Government Institutions and
Private Professional Engineering Colleges (Govt. quota seats), will be carried out by the
respective colleges following due procedure.

1. In order to be eligible for admission into the 5 year

integrated B.A.LL.B. course an applicant should
have successfully completed Higher Secondary
Examination (10+2) or equivalent recognized by
the Pondicherry University and the Bar Council of
India. A candidate who have obtained his/her +2
Higher Secondary Pass certificate after prosecuting
studies in distance or correspondence method shall
also be consider as eligible for admission in five
year integrated B.A.LL.B. course
Explanation : The candidate who have obtained
B.A.LL.B. 10+2 through open university system directly
9. [Five years Integrated without having any basic qualification for
Regular Course] prosecuting such studies are not eligible for
admission in this course.
2. Further, the candidates applying for admission to
this course should have secured 45% of marks in
the qualifying examination. However, in the case
of candidates belonging to Puducherry Scheduled
Caste and Scheduled Tribe,40% marks in the
qualifying examination is enough.

Minimum educational qualification shall be

a duration of not less than 3 Years of course of
study, Recognized by the Indian Nursing
Council. The minimum aggregate marks shall be
50% passing the Higher Secondary or an
equivalent (10+2) examination recognized by the
University for this purpose. Those who have
done 10+1 on or before 1986 will also be eligible
for admission. The candidate should be a
P.B.B.Sc. (Post Basic B.Sc.) Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife or
3. (Nursing) equivalent with any State Nursing Registration
Council. A male nurse trained before the
implementation of the new integrated course
besides being registered as a nurse with State
Nurses Registration Council, shall produce
evidence of training approved by Indian Nursing
Council for a similar duration in lieu of
Midwifery in any one of the following areas: O.T.
Techniques, Ophthalmic Nursing, Leprosy
Nursing, TB Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing,
Neurological and Neuro-Surgical Nursing,
Community Health Nursing, Cancer Nursing,
Orthopaedic Nursing.

Diploma in Medical Lab Technology of Two
Years duration from Recognized institution, with
Bachelor of Medical Lab minimum of 50% aggregate marks. Passed the

1.5.1. PROCEDURE FOR DETERMINING THE MERIT SCORE
ALL BIOLOGY BASED DEGREE COURSES

For all Biology-based Degree courses, i.e. B.V.Sc., & A.H. / B.P.T., / B.Sc. (Nursing) / B.Sc.
(MLT) / B.Sc. (MRIT), admission is based on the marks secured by the candidates in the prescribed
subjects in the qualifying examination (i.e. Biology / Botany & Zoology, Physics and Chemistry) and
normalizing them by the prescribed procedure.
1.5.1.1. B.V.Sc. & A.H

I. METHOD OF SELECTION FOR B.V. Sc. COURSE UNDER SPECIAL ALLOCATION
A. Self Supporting Category (U.T. of Puducherry) - 10 seats
Under this Category, 10 seats are allotted to the candidates of the U.T. of Puducherry and the
selection procedure is as follows:
i) Candidate should be a Native of the U.T. of Puducherry
ii) They will be selected based on the CENTAC merit list of the U.T. of Puducherry (as is
followed for biology-based courses)
iii) These 10 seats will be charged an additional fee of Rs.1.00 Lakh as Institutional
Development Fees per year payable for every year of study.
iv) If seats fall vacant under this category, they will be filled with the wait listed candidates of
Self-Supporting Category (National) with the fees applicable to Self-Supporting Category
(National).
B. Self-Supporting Category (National) - 17 Seats
Under this category, candidates from any part of India, willing to study for the same fees as
prescribed for the NRI category candidates. Selection of students is done based on NEET score.
If any seat falls vacant under this category, the same will be filled from the merit list of NRI
candidates.
C. NRI Category (4 Seats)

Under this category, only NRI candidates (or) wards of NRI parents are eligible to apply.
Selection of students is done based on NEET score. If any seat falls vacant under this category,
the same will be filled from the merit list of Self-Supporting candidates (National).

D. Foreign National Category - (2 Seats)
Under this category, only candidates who are born outside India and currently holding a foreign
passport are eligible to apply. Selection of students is done based on the marks in the qualifying
exam. If there are any vacant seats under the Foreign National category, the same will be filled
from the merit list of NRI candidates. If candidates are not available under NRI merit list, then the
vacant seats will be filled from the merit list of Self Supporting category (National).
NOTE: A candidate can apply under more than one category if he / she satisfies the conditions.
II. SELECTION PROCEDURE FOR B.V.Sc & A.H. COURSE UNDER NRI / FOREIGN
NATIONALS CATEGORIES
Admissions to these Categories will be made by the college following due procedure.
1.5.1.2 B.Sc. (HONS.) AGRICULTURE & B.Sc. (HONS.) HORTICULTURE
For drawing the Merit List, the marks scored in three subjects, viz., Physics, Chemistry and
Biology (or mean of Botany and Zoology) shall be considered. If a candidate had studied four
subjects in 10+2 or Intermediate viz., Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Agriculture / Forestry the
marks scored in Physics, Chemistry and Biology shall be considered for drawing merit list.
Marks in each of three subjects would be added and the aggregate of the three subjects would be
taken for ranking for a maximum of 100 marks. In the case of qualifying examination other than
Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary (H.Sc.) Examination, normalization procedure as prescribed by
CENTAC, Govt. of Puducherry will be followed. Ranking of the candidates will be done based on
the 'normalized marks' (rounded off to three decimal places) arrived at, to a base of 100.
In cases, where more than one student has got the same marks in the common merit list, the inter-se
merit among such students shall be determined in the order of priority as specified below: i)
Percentage of actual marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology ii) Percentage of actual marks in

Extension Workers who are working in the Department of Agriculture, Govt. of Puducherry.
Village Level Extension Workers seeking admission to B.Sc.(Hons.) Agriculture should send
their applications duly sponsored and recommended by the Dept. of Agriculture, Puducherry.
They should have passed minimum qualifications of PUC/H.Sc. examination conducted by
the Madras University or Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other
equivalent examination there to with a minimum of marks as mentioned in the 1.1 c as aggregate in
the subjects.
Candidates should not have attained the age of 45 years as on 1st July of the admission year.
C. Wards of Farmers: Two seats are reserved exclusively for wards of farmers.
Candidates who wish to apply for the seats reserved for son / daughter of farmer should satisfy the
eligibility as prescribed for H.Sc. / Equivalent (Academic stream) and produce the following
certificates from Officers of the Revenue Department not lower than the rank of the TAHSILDAR
(Dy. Tahsildar for Mahe/Yanam region).
 The parent / guardian of the candidate does not own more than 2.0 hectares of dry land
or 1.0 hectare of garden or wetland or their combination;
 The parent / guardian of the candidate is actually engaged in agricultural farming;
 The parent / guardian should not have annual income of more than Rs.75,000 from all
sources; and
 The parent / guardian should reside in village / town in the Union Territory of
Puducherry.
NOTE: For maintaining uniformity the extent of land should be given in hectares.
Any seat falling vacant under U.T. of Puducherry quota after final counselling will be allotted to
Other State/Other UTs. Other State vocational candidates are not eligible to apply for
B.Sc.(Hons.)Agriculture of this Institute.
II. GUIDELINES FOR ADMISSION OF FOREIGN NATIONAL & NRI STUDENTS:

(Admission to these Categories will be carried out by the college following due procedure)
In the sanctioned strength of 120 seats for B.Sc.(Hons.) Agriculture, 10 seats are allotted for
foreign national / NRI quota. The minimum qualification for admission under this quota is as follows:
(a) Mode of admission: The admission under the scheme will be given only to Foreign Nationals,
NRIs, their children/wards & NRI sponsored candidates. The eligibility requirements for this
programme are a pass in the Higher Secondary course (10+2) or its equivalent with minimum
marks in qualifying examination in subjects as per section-1.4.1 (a) - 6.

(b) Age Limit: Candidates should not have completed the age of 25 years on the first day of July of
2021.
(c) Mode of Payment: The prescribed tuition fee would be payable at the time of admission by a
Bank draft drawn from abroad in US dollars favouring the DEAN, PAJANCOA&RI, Karaikal
payable at Indian Bank, PKIET branch, Serumavilangai, Karaikal.
OR
A bank draft/ cheque in equivalent Indian currency issued against the NRI account (NRO account
not acceptable) maintained in India. In this case, the candidate shall also produce a certificate from
the respective bank that the draft/cheque has been issued against NRI account and USD rate on the
day of issue of draft / cheque should be mentioned.
(d) Sponsorer: In case of NRI sponsored candidate, the candidates should be sponsored by a Non-
Resident Indian who is a close relative of the candidate such as father/mother/brother/ sister/
uncle/aunt etc.
(e) Undertaking: The NRI Sponsorer should furnish an undertaking in the form of affidavit regarding
all payments and his relationship with the candidate (Affidavit format can be downloaded from the
website of the Institute).
NOTE: The affidavit must be attested by the Notary public of the country in which the NRI
Sponsorer is residing.
(f) Proof of status for NRI Sponsored candidates: Any one of the following documents shall be
considered as a proper proof of status as NRI:
 Copy of the Alien registration card (Green card) or Non-Resident card or Employment card issued
by the employer.
 Photocopy of the immigration/Employment visa entry on the passport along with the details of the
passport.
 Certificate issued by the Indian Embassy/High Commission in the country where the NRI is residing.
(g) Other state vocational Agriculture candidates are not eligible to apply under NRI scheme.
Students sponsored by Foreign Countries/ Embassies for admission into the B.Sc. (Hons.)
Agriculture programme at PAJANCOA&RI may submit their application through the respective
embassies with due recommendation / nomination of their names for admission, subject to production
of student’s visa and fulfillment of minimum eligibility requirements as stated above.
*Any seats falling vacant under Foreign National / NRI Scheme will be filled under Payment
Scheme.

1.5.1.3 B.Sc. / B.Pharm./BPT Courses
(i) B.Sc. (Nursing) / B.P.T. / B.Sc. (MRIT) admission is based on the marks secured by the
candidates in the prescribed subjects in the qualifying examination (i.e. Biology/Botany & Zoology,
Physics and Chemistry) and normalizing them by the prescribed procedure.
(ii) B.Sc. (MLT) admission is based on the marks secured by the candidates in the prescribed
subjects in the qualifying examination (i.e. Biology/Botany & Zoology, Physics and Chemistry) or
Physics, Foundation Science and Medical Laboratory Assistance course and normalizing them by the
prescribed procedure.
(iii) B.Pharm. admission is based on the marks secured by the candidates in the prescribed
subjects in the qualifying examination (i.e. Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with
one of the following optional subjects: Biology/Botany & Zoology/Mathematics).
For all Biology-based Degree courses, i.e. B.Sc. (Nursing)/ B.P.T./B.Sc. (MLT)/B.Sc. (MRIT)
admission is based on the marks secured by the candidates in the prescribed subjects in the qualifying
examination (i.e. Biology/ Botany & Zoology, Physics and Chemistry) and normalizing them by the
prescribed procedure.
1.5.1.4 B.TECH. DEGREE COURSE:
Admission is based on the marks secured by the candidates in the prescribed subjects of the
qualifying examination (i.e. for H.Sc. Academic: Mathematics, Physics and any one of the optional
subjects (Chemistry / Bio- Technology / Computer Sciences / Biology / Botany & Zoology) & for
qualifying exam with H.Sc. Vocational: Vocational Subject Theory, Vocational Subject Practical and
a related Subject) will be considered. Equal weightage will be given to all the three prescribed
subjects.
In case a candidate has appeared in more than any one of the above prescribed optional subjects, the
subject in which the candidate has obtained the highest marks will be taken into consideration for
“Normalization” and for calculating the actual total marks in the prescribed subjects. Wherever
separate marks for practical are awarded, the same will be considered along with the respective
subjects, for arriving at the total actual marks.
1.5.1.5 LAW DEGREE COURSES

B.A.LL.B. - Admission is based on the percentage of marks in aggregate of all subjects obtained by
the candidates in the qualifying examination. [No normalization of marks].
SELECTION PROCEDURE for Lateral Entry Courses
1. B.Tech. –The selection of the candidate shall be based on the marks obtained in the PRE- FINAL
AND FINAL SEMESTER EXAM of the candidates in the Diploma/B.Sc. Degree course. During
the preparation of merit list if a tie occurs, the procedure given below will be followed one after
the other to break the tie.

 The aggregate in percentage of the subjects of qualifying semesters of Diploma / Degree
examination shall be the basis for merit. In the event of this also being the same, the total
percentage of marks obtained in S.S.L.C/H.Sc. or equivalent examination shall be the
basis for ascertaining the merit.
 Date of birth of higher age.
2. P.B.B.Sc. (Nursing)
The selection of candidates will be based on the merit list drawn from the merit marks, i.e. the
aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying examination (D.G.N.M.).
3. B. Pharm. (Lateral Entry)
The selection of candidates will be based on the merit list drawn from the aggregate marks obtained
in the qualifying examination (D.Pharm.).
4. B.Sc. (M.L.T.) Lateral Entry
The selection of candidates will be based on the merit list drawn from the aggregate marks obtained in
the qualifying examination (D.M.L.T.).
5. B.Sc. (M.R.I.T.) Lateral Entry
The selection of candidates will be based on the merit list drawn from the aggregate marks obtained in
the qualifying examination (D.C.R.A.).
1.5.2. ORDER OF PRIORITY FOR TIE BREAK

When more than one candidate has got the same marks in the common merit list (i.e. the merit list prepared
after merging the normalized marks of candidates from various Boards), the inter-se merit among such

1.5.3. MERIT LIST

1.5.3.1. DEGREE COURSES:
Selection of Candidates for admission to all the degree courses will be based on the Merit lists
prepared by CENTAC, based on the marks arrived at by adopting the ‘method of normalization’,
as detailed in para below. Ranking of the candidates will be done based on the ‘normalized marks’
(rounded-off to three decimal places) arrived at, to a base of 100.
NORMALIZATION PROCEDURE:
In order to evolve a common base for equating the marks obtained by the candidates from various
Boards of Examination, “normalization procedure” is followed.
The marks obtained by the students in the relevant subjects in the qualifying examination conducted
by the various Boards or Authority, shall be equated with the marks obtained by the students in the
same subjects in the qualifying examination, conducted by the State Board (i.e. state Board of
School Examinations, Tamil Nadu), by adopting the method of normalization.
EXPLANATION: Under the method of normalization, the highest mark obtained by the students
of various Boards in each subject, shall be equated to the highest mark obtained by the students of
the State Board in that subject, and the relative marks of other students in that subjects, shall be
determined accordingly.
ILLUSTRATION: If the highest marks secured by a student of the State Board, in Physics is 100
and the highest mark secured by a student of any other Board (say “X”), in the same subject is 90,
then, both the highest marks will be considered to be equal to 100. If any other student of the other
Board (i.e “X”), is 90, then, 60 marks secured by such a student will be considered to be equal to
66.667 marks as arrived at and given bellow: (100 x60) / 90 = 66.667%

After normalization of marks of the eligible students of different Boards, in the relevant subjects,
the “normalized marks” obtained shall be merged into a common merit list.
In case, where more than one student has got the same marks in the “COMMON MERIT LIST”, the
‘inter-se merit’ among such students shall be determined in the manner prescribed as para 2.5.2
above.
NORMALIZATION PROCEDURE (OTHER STATES)

For the purpose of normalization of marks of candidates from “Other State”, except for the B.Tech.
course, for all other such courses, wherever such quota is available, maximum marks obtained in
the respective subjects, from among the various Boards under which the above candidate have
actually studied and applied for a particular course, will only be considered.
ILLUSTRATION: For B. Pharm. course, if candidates form Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh
and Maharashtra alone have applied against “All India quota”, then, the above Boards and their
maximum marks only will be considered, for the purpose of “normalization” of marks.
The Director of School Education, Government of Puducherry, will be the “Designated Authority”
to furnish the “maximum marks” in each of the prescribed subjects for the various courses, of the
various Boards of Examinations, and furnish it to CENTAC. For the “Normalization Procedure”
only the above officially furnished data will be used and will form the basis for preparing the
“COMMON MERIT LIST” for the various courses, coming under the purview of CENTAC.
Candidates who have qualified in examination conducted by Boards other than the Boards notified
in Annexure-II of the Information Bulletin (including Lyçee Francais) should produce the
equivalence certificate obtained from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.
1.5.3.2. DIPLOMA IN HEALTH SCIENCES (DGNM / DANM / DMLT/ DCEC / DDT/

DAPT/DCRA)
Procedure for determining the Merit Score or Ranking of Candidates:
Selection of Candidates for admission to the Diploma courses (after Higher Secondary / 10+2) will
be based on the percentage of total marks (merit marks) obtained in the respective Qualifying
Examinations. Ranking of the candidates will be done based on the ‘merit marks’.
Procedure for “Tie Break” in the Merit Marks:

When more than one candidate have got the same marks in the common merit list, the inter-se
merit “among such candidates, for each course will be determined in the order of priority” as

only to be paid. Boarding facility will be arranged with college canteen/private hotel and the

a) Hostel Fees: The B.Sc. (Nursing) students would be required to stay in hostel as per

compulsorily undergo Clinical Postings including Night Duties in the Hospitals. The students of other
courses would also be required to stay in Hostel as per requirements.
Hostel fees Rs.7,500/- (Rupees seven thousand and five hundred only) have to be paid by the
students who need hostel accommodation (Hostel facilities will be provided only for female students).
e) Postings in specialized areas: Expenditure related to educational tours and special posting in
