RFI Description / Question

Ceiling design loads

The ceiling spec for the Tate Structural Ceiling calls for standard loads. We need to get the M & E design
loads per meter squared to design our ceiling.
There was an issue in DUB12 when the ceiling failed due to the placement of the services by the
mechanical and electrical contractors. If we get the correct design loads, we will avoid this happening
again.

Please note the loading requirement are set out in the Architectural specification section 095113. Extract of relevant
section included. Refer to CLG-815 subsection 10 for the minimum loading requirements of the ceiling. This ceiling install
needs to meet this requirement as a minimum.

Services design weights

1) ECWS pipework = 9.0 kg/m)
2) Pressure Tubing in tray for High Static Switches. = 2.1 kg/m approx.
3) Return Damper. (60kg - dimensions 1050mm x 2494mm = 23kg/m2)
4) Electrical 50kg/m

constraint of the ceiling manufactures recommendations.
