1. Why Technical drafting is important to the industry?

Technical Drafting is important because it is related to the technology and

communication ideas. Industry and scientific development is an important form of

communication. It allows you to keep design lines and details in real size as the drafting

are represented with correct body proportions. This is useful to create balance and

harmony and also allows you to see how the item will look once it has been produced.

Technical drafting are important because our visions are skewed by perception and not

dependable for accurate measurements. When you manufacturing you are producing

outputs in large numbers that are to be of same dimensions, size and use the same

amount of material. To do this, we measure that are unbiased, standardized and not

dependent on individual understanding.

Technical drafting is important because it’s the process of making technical

drawings, like of buildings or structures. Drafting always involves drawing, but drawing

doesn’t always involves drafting. In the same way, drafting is a subset of drawing. When

you draft, it is always important in the industry because you make a drawing that has

specific technical qualities for example, you might make a drawing of building or a

structure that is perfectly to scale and ready for an architect to bring to life. Using word

processing and other technology tools for drafting especially helpful for struggling

students. The writing process is fluid and these tools recognize this, allowing students to

easily change earlier decisions about purpose, audience, and genre and addressing

different learning styles. Drafting is the act and discipline of composing drawings that

visually communicate how something functions or is constructed.

2. List at least 10 Drafting tools and Equipment with it’s corresponding uses

and photos.

DRAFTING TOOLS

 T-square- Guides in drawing parallel horizontal lines.

 Triangle- Draws perfect 90, 60, 45, and 30 degree angles.

 Compass- Draws large and circles in pencil or pen point.

 Sandpaper pad- makes pencil points conical and long without breaking.

 Pencil- Consists of thick graphite used for writing and drawing.

DRAFTING EQUIPMENTS

 Drafting Machine- is a tool used in technical drawing, consisting of a pair of

scales

 Pencil Sharpener- Pencils should be sharpened whenever they show sign of

dullness.

 Drawing Paper- This type does not groove easily when pressure is applied to
the pencil.

 Eraser Shield- This is made up of a thin metal with irregular holes.

 Drawing Board/Table- a board made of a wood and it is made by the craftsman

tape.
