Caption is brief text over or under a picture in a book, magazine, or newspaper that
describes the picture or explains what the people in it are doing or saying. (Cambridge Academic
Content Dictionary). A caption is a brief description accompanying an illustration. Caption
adalah deskripsi singkat yang menyertai ilustrasi. (Vocabulary.com)
Caption text is a short text that is used to complete an image. Caption text appears usually
under pictures, photos, graphics, posters and even tables.
Types of Caption Text
1. Identification
This type of caption text is usually used to describe or identify everyone in the photo, but
does not explain a story. The focus on this type of identification text caption is on clarity.
2. Group Caption
Group Captions are usually used to describe multiple images. This caption should have at
least two sentences per image and include a quote whenever possible. The group caption must be
clear about which image each caption describes.
3. Story-Telling Caption
Story-telling captions are the ideal type of caption and can be used whenever possible.
This type of caption will tell a story behind the image. Using this type of caption will usually be
more interesting to read.
4. Summary
For the type of caption summary, it usually contains an explanation of the subject in the
picture, the activities carried out in the picture, the time of the incident, the location of the
incident and the reason why the activity was carried out.
5. Quote
Quote caption means containing a quote from someone in the picture.
6. Cutline
Cutline type captions are the ones most often found in pictures and writings on
newspapers and media, both offline and online. The caption cutline describes the subject in the
image and what the subject is doing.
7. Expanded
The type of expanded caption is the type of caption that has the most complete
information. In accordance with the name of the type, this expanded caption text is a
development of the previous text, especially from the summary caption.

George Clooney to direct and star in ‘Good Morning, Midnight’ for Netflix
George Clooney has signed on to direct and star in “Good Morning, Midnight” for Netflix. It will
be his first project with the streaming service.
Clooney and Smokehouse Pictures’ Grant Heslov will produce the adaptation of Lily Brooks-
Dalton’s novel, “which follows a lonely scientist in the Arctic, as he races to make contact with
the crew of a spacecraft as they try to return home to Earth,” according to a description from
Netflix.
“Grant and I couldn’t be more excited to be involved with this incredible project,” Clooney told
Variety. “Mark is a writer we’ve long admired and his script is haunting. We’re thrilled to be
working with our friends at Netflix as well.”
The story is a sci-fi thriller, and was named one of the best books of 2017 by the Chicago
Review of Books. Clooney will play the lead scientist. Scott Stuber, head of Netflix’s film
division, said: “Having known and worked with George for over two decades, I can’t think of
anyone better to bring this amazing story to life. The book is powerful and moving, and Mark’s
adaptation is beautifully written. At its core, this is a story about human nature, and one that I
know our global audiences will fall in love with, just like I did when I read it.”
Clooney recently executive produced, appeared in, and directed a few episodes of Hulu’s
“Catch-22.” The film, which does not yet have a title, will begin production in October.

Nepal Rescuers Find 3 Bodies Near Crashed US Marine
Nepalese rescuers on Friday found three bodies near the wreckage of a U.S. Marine helicopter
that disappeared earlier this week while on a relief mission in the earthquake-hit Himalayan
nation, officials said. Nepal’s Defense Secretary Iswori Poudyal gave no details about the
nationalities of the victims. The helicopter was carrying six Marines and two Nepalese army
soldiers. The wreckage was found near Gothali village in the district of Dolakha. The U.S.
Embassy in Nepal had no immediate comment Friday.
The discovery of the wreckage, first spotted by a Nepalese army helicopter Friday, followed days
of intense search involving U.S. and Nepalese aircraft and even U.S. satellites. The U.S. relief
mission was deployed soon after a magnitude-7.8 quake hit April 25, killing more than 8,200
people. It was followed by another magnitude-7.3 quake on Tuesday that killed 117 people and
injured 2,800. The second quake was centered between Kathmandu and Mount Everest, and hit
hardest in deeply rural parts of the Himalayan foothills, hammering many villages reached only
