fraction and mixed numbers and Division of Fraction.

What is fraction? Fraction is a part of a whole.

Wow, very good!

But, do you all know that fraction has a numerator Yes, Teacher Jess!
and denominator?

So, how do we multiply fraction? Pupil 1: Multiply the numerator

to numerator and denominator
to denominator, Teacher.

1 1 1 x1 1
x = =
2 2 2 x2 4

3 5 15 15 1
x = ÷ =
10 6 60 15 4

How about 3 x 5 ? Pupil 2: We need to change the
whole number into fraction,
Teacher.
Very Good!

Every whole number has 1 as its denominator.

What is the fraction form of 3? Pupil 3: The fraction form of 3 is

Can we reduce 5 to lowest term?
Pupil 4: No, because 3 and 5 is
already a prime number,
Teacher
Wow, Very Good!

Let’s proceed with Division of Fraction

Pupil 5: How can we divide a
fraction-to-fraction Teacher?
To divide a fraction, we need to change the divisor to
its reciprocal and then perform multiplication.

Do you know where is the divisor? Pupil 6: The divisor is the

second fraction, Teacher.
Very Good!
