Executive Summary

Name of our business is Entertainment4u. It will be located in Bashundhara, 300ft

Purbachal.
Address:… Bangladesh lacks in the entertainment industry. They do not have a Drive-In
movie theatre like USA, Ireland, Italy etc. We will be introducing a Drive-In movie theatre
along with Drive-Through food stalls for the first time in Bangladesh. At the moment we are
business with a outdoor theatre where people will have the convenience to take
a quick takeaway from our Drive-Through food shop within our premises.
Drive-Through food stalls are not available anywhere in Bangladesh which we will be
Introducing for the first time too.
People will be able to watch movies in an open space in a big screen from the comfort and
privacy of their car or they could just lay in the lawn or sit at our designated seats. People will
be able to buy quick snacks from our Drive-Through food stalls.
Bangladesh sure do have two 3D theatres, one is Cineplex in Bashundhara City and another
one in Jamuna Future Park and they have both proved to be quite a successful business but
what makes us different from them is that we will showing the same movies but in an open
space under the stars which we believe will be more comfortable for the viewers.
Unlike other businesses around Bangladesh, our business is a 100% service oriented business.
Our Financial analysis demonstrates the detailed calculation of revenue, expenses and profits
of our business. Our business can be referred in the category of oligopoly business. The
capital, revenue and profit might not match the ones in a large scale business but we strongly
believe in the foreseeable future, according to our financial plan which clearly shows profit
from year 1. We believe that it would turn into quite a profitable business

 Business Industry Identification :

Our business is an entertainment industry based on an outdoor theatre. At Drive-In Cinemas people
get to watch their favourite movies under the stars sitting at the comfort and convenience of their own
cars or they could just enjoy the movies lying on the lawn or relaxing at the lawn chairs in an enclosed
area.In our theatre, the films are viewed in a different way of modification using high quality
technologies which gives audience to gain a new experience as we use high quality projectors to
broadcast the movies on our Inflatable AIRSCREEN®. We are open throughout the year even during
the rainy season. We show both Box office and Classic movies in our screen. At weekends we would
show all time hit movies like Finding Nemo, Casablanca for the families to enjoy together and at
weekdays we would show Box office Movies like
SpiderMan:Homecoming $117.0M

Transformers: The Last Knight

for the friend’s to enjoy.

 Business Philosophy

Strive hard to give the best customer service by producing the movies on screen at the finest quality
one could expect from an outdoor theatre. We make sure that our customer will relax in comfort and
enjoy every moment they spend watching our movies. Also, to provide our customer with satisfying
and reasonably priced fresh snacks and beverages within our Drive-Through food stall and our
concession stand.

 Company’s competitive advantages

In Bangladesh, we are the business that came up with the idea of an outdoor theatre. We have no
competitors within the free market. More like we will be running a monopoly business. Our theatre
produces movies screens most effectively and efficiently for our customer maintaining high standards
with an affordable price. We are also the only business with a Drive-Through food stall and a
concession stand for our audience to enjoy the various snacks which we will offer or they could just
bring their food which the other theatres do not allow. We will even have a small playground for
the little kids who will come to enjoy movies with their families. We have kept all age group
audience on our mind. All of these gives our business a competitive edge.

 Legal Form of Ownership : Partnership

To open a Drive-In Theatre and Drive-Through food stall, a huge land and a good amount
of financial resources is needed to meet the cost. We have approached Bashundhara Group
with our business plan and they have agreed to provide us with one of their many lands and
9

we have agreed to share 20% of our profit with them as long as we run our business on their
land. And we have partnered on opening up a Drive-Through food stall with ‘Takeout’, one
of the most popular fast food shop in the country. Takeout will be running their food shop at
our premises as a Drive-Through shop and they will provide us with 30% of their profit from
the sales made at our partnering Drive-Through food stall. And the rest of the costs of would
be shared among five individual owners where every member has the same field of interest
and agreed to management, strategic skills and proportioned profit.

Service Description

concession stand and a large parking area for automobiles. Within this enclosed area,
customers can view movies from the privacy and comfort of their cars or they could sit at our

 A competitive advantage in the market

The products we used to feature the theatre gives our business a competitive advantage as we are
the only firm with an Outdoor theatre in Bangladesh where our viewers can watch their movies
under the stars at the convivence of their own cars or they could enjoy the movie siting at our
lawn chairs. Our partial competitors are the theaters that show 2D and 3D movies. Our theatre

Our outdoor theatre offers to give movie viewers an experience that cannot be replicated on TV at
home. We even have a Drive-Through food stall available at our premises which cannot be
found anywhere in Bangladesh and we even allow outside food which is not allowed at any
Theatres in Bangladesh.

Industry Analysis
Drive-In Theatre is an entertainment Industry. A Drive-In Theatre consists a large outdoor
movie screen, a projection booth, a concession stand and a large parking area for
automobiles. Within this enclosed area, customers can view movies from the privacy and
comfort of their cars. It is a commercial operations catering to the general public, who attend
by purchasing a ticket. Our theatre focuses on showcasing both classic and new films. Our
Theare offers moviegoers an experience that cannot be mimicked in the home setting. The
film is projected with a movie projector onto a large projection screen for the audience while
the dialogue, sounds and music are broadcasted at a low output power on AM or FM radio
which is to be picked up by a car radio. This method also allows the soundtrack to be picked
up in stereo by the audience on an often high-fidelity stereo installed in the car.

15
P a g e | 16

We even have a small playgroud for the childrens. We have something for everyone. We
have a Drive-Through food stall too and a concession stand selling burgers, popcorns and
sodas to our viewers which they can enjoy watching their favourite films. A big chunk of our
revenue will come from our Drive-Through food stall and our concession stand because no
matter what food you sell in cinemas, there would always be takers. Human beings are prone
to consuming a larger amount of food when seated in front of a cinema. This is the
fundamental idea of the relationship of snacks and cinemas.

Economic Environment
Movie theatres are being hit particularly hard as the availability of movies on demand
through websites increases. Theatres are constantly competing with other forms of movie
viewing options such as computers, televisions, game consoles and smart phones. As a result,
theaters have become one of many options available for consumer to watch a film. But if you
want a different experience and want to enjoy all that we are offering, you will have no
option but to visit us. A visit to the outdoor movie theatre is still among the most popular
form of recreation despite the fact that the entertainment industry constantly complains about
the impact that illegal copying and downloading has on its business. Piracy is a threat to
movie theatres but not an Outdoor Theatre.

16
P a g e | 17

Societal and cultural environment

Social and cultural impacts enhance the social lives of the local communities in the following
ways:
• Theatre provide a strong social function as a meeting place and centre in which to socialize.
• Theatre provide a mainstream program where no other cinemas exist in the locality or in the
neighboring cities
• The opportunity to see mainstream films in a non-multiplex atmosphere is attractive to
some sections of the audience.
• Moreover, the cinemas play an important social inclusion role, particularly for elderly
people who would otherwise not have the opportunity to watch films “for them” in an easily
accessible “traditional” environment, and for other excluded groups such as young parents
with babies. The cinemas are “re-introducing” people to film.
• Special events and activities target various community groups to a visit in theatre. Film
festivals, special screenings and educational initiatives often reach underserved subgroups of
the population
• Cinemas enhance local learning opportunities through links with local schools, screenings
and courses, although lack of funding often restricts the range of educational activities.
• Cinemas also make an important social contribution to their local communities
• Theatres are seen in general as affordable leisure options for families, with fewer concerns
over travel and food costs than other activities. The theatres are seen as safe, secure venues
fostering independence among young people.

Age restrictions: Watching a movie may also be restricted by a film rating system, typically
due to depictions of sex, nudity or graphic violence. According to such systems, children or
teenagers below a certain age will be forbidden to access to our Drive-In Theater showing
certain movies, or only admitted when accompanied by a
parent or other adult. In some jurisdictions, our theatre
legally imposes these age restrictions by implementing
rules and regulations.

Demographic Environment

Entertainment 4u will be giving the people a very unique experience. Since this will be the
very first drive in theatre in this country the amount of interest and excitement will work
almost for everyone starting from children to middle aged and retired individuals.
Bangladesh have been growing immensely and exponentially since last decade in the
entertainment sector where people are willing to spend money for having a good time with
family or friends. Entertainment 4u will provide just that. Usually the major problem with
demographic environment is its miscalculation of data in predicting the customer response
by the marketers. Additionally, these assumptions are based largely on the cultural norms
surrounding the company. Bangladesh has a rich culture with high adaptability where
people are always adapting and upgrading to new changes and developments and trends.
Going to theatres for movies is no different. People of this region went to folk Theatres
called “jatra”since the 19th century so it proves their interest in these industry. People now,
are going to the movies in large numbers with friends and family of which a large proportion
are the teenagers and students. Our Drive in theatre will offer its customers with something
trendy and different.Since,it will be located in Purbachol which is very close to three major
and renowned public universities in Bangladesh. Our target market will be hugely occupied
by these students. Bangladesh’s population has been increasing significantly and the new
generations always want something new which Entertainment 4u is ready to provide with
enthusiasm.

Geographical Environment
Our business, Entertainment 4u will be located at Purbachol. It will lie on the 300ft road and
communication and transportation is very easy. We will have a leasable land of 1 acre. It is
close to the posh areas of the city like Gulshan, Banani and Bashundhara and will be a great
entertainment option for the residents of these area. The local business community has
shown great support for a drive-in theatre since it is something completely new and they
expect a good amount of people from all parts of the city. With quality movie selection, we
expect people visiting often to the theatre. Public transports are available to reach the
desired destination. Our business also meets certain standards that help to reduce any
adverse effects on the environment. We will have two separate gates for vehicles to enter
and leave the premises to reduce any chance of congestion.

Legal and Political Environment

The best films ground people in common values and ideals regardless of our differences. When
we sit down to spend a few hours to see a movie, we are absorbing the vital essence of the story.
The social, cultural and economic messages are magnified through a sort of unspoken
collaboration with the entertainment industry. The fluffy or unrealistic ideas that are made into
movies also have a practical everyday impact on our economy. Theatres are solidifying the
common quality we share in moving our countries forward into the future with education and
technology. The duty of political environment is to protect uniqueness, intellectual rights,
freedoms and viability of film in the entertainment industry. The ability to educate, inspire and
change lives is at the essence of how we operate as a country, with the freedom of speech and the
freedom of press at the core of our nations liberties. There is no perfect protection against the
negative influence of violence in films, censorship is not the answer. Our theater considers the
elements that to help protect the film industry. Politics and entertainment may not be so far
removed from each other. Politicians can share the ability to ignite change, or shift the patterns
of traditional thinking into modern era.

Technological environment
The idea of why people come to a drive-in really, hasn’t changed. They come for the nostalgia of
the old movies and get the best experience one could expect from a new movie. “Most of the
people that come through our gates are there because they want to be able to take the kids and
say, ‘I saw a movie at a drive-in.’ Everybody remembers the first movie they saw at a drive-in. We
are the first business in Bangladesh who came up with the idea of an outdoor Theatre. We have
bought all our equipment’s from a professional Drive-In Supplier in USA just so we are technically
strong and compete shoulder to shoulder with the 2D and 3D when it comes to technology. We
use Inflatable Movie AIRSCREEN® 40'. The 40′ x 22′ is a great size AIRSCREEN®
inflatable outdoor movie screen. This is the best screen available at the market at the
moment. Movie Projector.

And we have brought The Christie DWU951-Q as our outdoor movie projector, from Christie’s
new Q series. It provides industry leading image quality with the reliability and versatility you have
come to expect from Outdoor Movies. This one-chip DLP projector is the highest quality on the
market.
Furthermore, we have a Drive-In Console at our Theatre which transmits the stereo which can be
picked up by the car’s FM transmitter or the smartphones. People will be able to control the volume
on their own.
We are very technology savvy and we have got it all. The entrance to our Theatre just comes at a cost
of 350BDT.

20
P a g e | 21

Competitive Environment
Movie Theaters industry is struggling to bring viewers back in front of the silver screen.
Competition from online streaming platforms has drawn moviegoers away from the theaters
recently in the past years. In the coming years, the industry will benefit from rising
disposable income, which will encourage consumers to spend more on entertainment. The
lights have grown dimmer for the Movie Theaters industry mounting external competition in
the form of online streaming platforms and flat ticket sales have severely limited revenue
growth. Enabling more entertainment spending, media consumption is increasingly shifting
toward lower-cost online subscriptions, such as Netflix. This trend has been supported by the
rising number of tablets and Smartphone capable of streaming movie files, as well as the
continued development of wireless data connection.
Our business will provide the only Drive-in theatre of the country. This is very different in
comparison to the other movie theatres of the city like Blockbuster or Cineplex. We have no
competitors within the free market. More like we will be running a monopoly business. Our
theatre produces movies screens most effectively and efficiently for our customer
maintaining high standards with an affordable price. We are also the only business with a
Drive-Through food stall and a concession stand for our audience to enjoy the various snacks
which we will offer or they could just bring their food which the other theatres do not allow.
We will even have a small playground for the little kids who will come to enjoy movies with
their families. We have kept all age group audience on our mind. All of these gives our
business a competitive edge

21
P a g e | 22

Market Analysis
Market Segmentation:

Entertainment4u’s two main target markets: families and young adults. The movies we show
in our theatres can target both markets at the same time with minimal cannibalization.

 Families - this segment focuses on adults and parents with younger children who don't
need to see the latest movies on release and seek an inexpensive, quality, family-
oriented entertainment experience.
 Young adults - this segment is comprised of the 16-24 year old age group. This group
is interested in seeing comedy and action/adventure type movies that are not directed
at the younger and family markets.

These two market segments, families and young adults, are also targeted specifically because
they comprise the two largest segments of our population. We will determined to be a
community-oriented business and seeks to serve as much of the population as possible.

Watching a movie may also be restricted by a motion picture rating system, typically due to
depictions of sex, nudity or graphic violence. According to such systems, children or
teenagers below a certain age may be forbidden access to theatres showing certain movies, or
only admitted when accompanied by a parent or other adult. In some jurisdictions, a rating
may legally impose these age restrictions on movie theatres.

With quality movie selection, should keep people coming back regularly. Public transports
are available. The market size for the Outdoor Theatre was calculated using population
estimates for Dhaka region. Significant number of student’s visit Bashundhara Residential
Area on a regular basis to attend their classes at North South University, Independent
University of Bangladesh and American International University of Bangladesh. Top three
out of the many private universities in Bangladesh is situated at Bashundhara Residential
Area. Furthermore Kazi Food Island and Lasperaguz at 300ft Bashundhara is very popular
among the Dhaka City Dwellers for the delicious foods at a pocket friendly budget so it was
reasonable to assume that some of them plus their friends and acquaintances would be
potential customers of . Entertainment4u. Assuming an average per capita figure of to an
outdoor movie theatre per year, this translates to approximately tickets sold initially per year.
Attendance will fluctuate not only on a daily basis

A variety of quality, reasonably priced snack items and beverages will keep customers
satisfied during their movie experience. The founders understand that the entire experience
can be jeopardized by poor customer service and will seek to hire only the most customer
service oriented personnel.

22
P a g e | 23

Competitors
The main competition to our movie theatre will be:
Internet, torrent and Netflix
New technology in home entertainment
Neighbouring Theatre
There is limited direct competition. As Entertainment4u is the only outdoor theatre in
Bangladesh. Competition will come mainly from several multiplex theatres as Cineplex and
others. As all of us will be showing the same film the difference is that we would present them
with dynamic big screen in an outdoor space under the the stars Our theatre offers a good value
for money price, our tickets are cheaper than Star Cineplex and Blockbuster. Our outdoor
theatre offers to give movie viewers an experience that cannot be replicated on TV at home. We
even have a Drive-Through food stall available at our premises which cannot be found anywhere
in Bangladesh and we even allow outside food which is not allowed at any Theatres in
Bangladesh.

Market Share analysis:

Since our theatre is presenting movie in a very different way we expect that our customers
will accept us and response in a very positive manner. Our drive-in theatre is offering
something that no other theatres are. We will be showing brand new movies along with the
classic ones and that too with a reasonable price. We will have playground for kids and
customers can bring their own food and watch movies from their cars or seats at the lawn. All
these gives us a special place in the market place.

Total Market Size:

The numbers used to calculate annual ticket sales are based on a conservative estimate of the
market size and are in line with average attendance figures for other theatres and the province
as a whole. There is no indication that the residents of Dhaka would be less likely to frequent
movies than in other cities. Other than the cafe and restaurants and the occasional outdoor
performance, visitors only see a quiet evening ahead of them. A drive-in movie theatre is an
affordable entertainment option for people on vacation or visiting the area and relax while
watching movie under the open sky. For this reason, it is not unrealistic to expect the movie
theatre to be a very busy place at certain times of the year, thus helping to boost attendance
figures.

We have predicted that atleast 120-130 cars would be entering at an average at the beginning
in the first month of operation since it’s a new business with a tight budget. Severe weather
issues like heavy rainfall can be a problem as well which might discourage customers to go
out with their cars. However at the end of the year of our business we expect a sell out with
150 cars.

23
P a g e | 24

Target Marketing:

Market Geographic

As a drive-in theatre we are not able to be flexible to move from region to region giving us greater
access to a wider audience. Currently we are restricted to our city because of our limited budget and
with a very new idea but we are focusing on growing so that in the future we build another drive -in
theatre in another district or place.

Market Demographics

People who would want to go to a drive in theatre expect to have a good time going out instead of
movies at home using internet and TV.They want to be there. They have made a conscious choice
about how they wish to be entertained. These people can be of any age, any nationality, and any
gender. We have low ticket prices so we can include all levels of economic status. The common
factors, however, are the following:

 Value the arts.

 Background of exposure to the arts, or even an education in the arts.
 Ages vary from young adults to the elderly.

Market Behaviors

Theater goers are loyal consumers. If they like a movie, they will come back for other one.
However, the frequency with which the average audience member goes to a show is most
likely once a month, oftentimes less. Teenagers however, want more and more film to watch.

Market needs
The value of our drive-in theatre is immeasurable. Entertainment 4u offers self-growth and
education to all of its audiences. We are focused on building self-confidence and since this
will be a whole different project with something that was absent in the entertainment industry
of the country it will be widely accepted and needed by the people and the society.

Marketing strategy

We anticipate that a buzz will be created once the construction begins. Excitement will build as the
grand opening approaches. To encourage that excitement, we will have a countdown to opening on
the building's marquee. Concurrently, advertisements in both the local newspaper and the college's
daily will promote the opening with coupons for free items from the snack bar. Since a large share of
profits will come from concessions, we want to let people know about our tasty snacks. Finally, we
will use our website to keep our customers, especially college students, updated on the movie
selection, which will change every two weeks. The main sales strategy is to provide recent successful
movie releases that appeal to both audiences.

Website Marketing Strategy

The website will be very simple. Its main purpose is to communicate to our customers what
movies are showing at what times with links to each movie's website and reviews. The design
will feature an image of the drive-in theatre along with the list of current movies and those
that are coming soon and will be supportable in smartphones as well. Since the movies will
change every other week, maintenance should be fairly straight-forward. Arrangements have
been made with both the local and college newspapers for links to our web site from theirs.
Development requirements are minimal, since the site will only be a few pages. The site will
be built by a local website development firm. Once it has been created, the founders will be
responsible for updating it with the latest movies or shows listing each week. It is expected
that this will take no longer than 1 -2 hours each week.

The website address will be printed on tickets and it will be prominently placed on
advertisements that we will run in the local paper.
