Summary of the Report

There are two functions of Human Resource Management. One is Managerial

Functions and two is Operative functions. Managerial functions include planning,
organizing, directing, and controlling. A manager must plan ahead to get things done
though permeating functions and tasks to subordinates. Planning helps a manager to
determine objectives, the needs of the organization, and steps to accomplish tasks. A
manager must organize and design an organization structure to carry out various
operations. To get things work smoothly done, the manager should encourage and
guide subordinates o work willingly and effectively. A manager has also controlling
functions that regulate activities in the workplace.

Operative functions are tasks or duties entrusted to personnel department. These

are concerned with employment, development, compensation, integration and
maintenance of personnel of the organization. To achieve the objectives and goals of
the organization, the management should focus on selecting of its people necessary to
the tasks and functions. The management has the responsibility to provide trainings for
the subordinates or personnel to help them develop technical skills for their jobs and
prepare them for more challenging tasks. The management has also the responsibility
to give due compensation to the personnel. Right and proper compensation for their
work and contribution to the organization encourage and motivate them to work
effectively. The management should also maintain the workplace and environment
conducive. This influences their efficiency and morale of the employees.
Reaction

When human resource manager discharges his or her functions properly and
accordingly, employees will work willingly. In an organization like DEPED, teachers get
motivated to work when their school heads or supervisors prioritizes their welfare. We
can work together and achieve our mission and goals when these people in higher
positions maintain good relations with the teachers.

Our morale as a teacher gets high and we maintain our performance

satisfactorily not for the benefit of the department alone but also for ourselves. The
functions of human resource management as stated in the report are properly laid down
and this will help us to prevent difficulties in managing subordinates or employees.

Management should ensure that all these functions must be carried out as single
activity. All these functions must be given emphasis and importance. When all these
functions are well carried out, the organization will accomplish tasks and achieve its
desired results.
