Start-up When applying this training and before using electrical control and
and Test automation equipment after design and installation, the application
and associated functional safety system needs to be subjected to a
start-up test by qualified personnel to verify correct operation of
the equipment. It is necessary that arrangements for such testing
be made and that enough time is allowed to perform complete and
satisfactory testing.

i. Open the Citect Explorer and click the Example project button in
the Project List to select it as the active project.
ii. Click the Expand button to view the project folder list and navigate
through the components of the project.
ii. Click the Run Project button on the tool bar to run the project.
iii. Navigate through the project by using the menus to change pages.

1. Rename a Cluster for the Milk_Treatment project.
Hints & Tips: Configuring an alarm server to operate in Extended Memory mode
enables the server to run as a 64-bit process, increasing the amount of memory that
is available during operation. It is recommended for systems that need to handle a
large number of alarms at times of high capacity. To enable this mode of operation,
set the alarm server's Extended Memory property to TRUE.

l Compile a project
l Run the Citect Computer Setup Wizard to create and modify the basic
set of parameters for the project to run.
1. Compile the project.
i. Open the Project Editor and select File » Compile from the menu.
The dialog shown below will appear at the end of the compilation.
This is because the Starter project has configured an existing I/O
Server and I/O Device that are still attached to the original cluster
named Cluster1.
iv. Use the drop down list to change the Cluster Name to PastCluster.

ii. Select the Express Setup radio button and then click the Next >
button.
iii. The Project Setup dialog gives an option to select the project to run
if there are multiple compiled projects.
iv. Since no networking has been configured, the Server and Control
Client option is selected. The Control Client and View-only Client
options are greyed out. Click the Next > button.
v. The Network Setup dialog allows selecting the type of network the
project will use. Since this project will run stand-alone, select the
Stand-alone option. Click the Next > button.

UNAUTHORIZED SECURITY ACCESS
vii. Click the Finish button to save the settings and exit the Computer
Setup Wizard.

iii. Select the Save Included Projects checkbox to add any included
projects to the backup file.
Note: If you select the Save Included Projects option, any system
projects that are installed with the product (such as "Library_Controls"
and "SxW_Style_Include") will not be added to the backup file.
iv. Add a path to the backup file location directly by either typing it in
front of the filename or select the file location by using the Browse
button.
Note: Select the Save sub-directories option to back up project sub directory
folders.

Note: If the Select all included projects checkbox is disabled, it indicates that the
backup file does not contain any included projects.

LOSS OF DATA
l Do not restore the project in the Current project you are working
on, as the currently selected project in the Citect Explorer will be
overwritten.
l Any project must be restored to a New project.
l Give a new name to the project. The name must be unique.

HARD DISK DRIVE ERASURE
Do not set the Restore Project path to the root directory of your drive (usually
C:\).
