in the USA. They have become widely accepted as statements of what good writing looks like. Brookhart states "These
were developed in the 1980s by teachers working with the Northwest Regional Education Laboratory, now Education
Northwest (education.-northwest.org) Why is it called 6+1 Traits?

According to what I have read, the reason why it called 6+1 traits is because this analytical model for assessing
and teaching was made of 6+1 qualities that define as strong way of writing rubrics. First is ideas, that indicate to the main
idea, purpose and message of the rubrics, second is organization which represent the structure or the shape and order of
your rubrics, third is Voice, this is the tone or the message that the writer wants to deliver in his rubric, Fourth is Word of
choice this means the way on how the author or writer chose his words or method on how he deliver his rubric, like if it
was in deeper and meaningful words or in form of superficial words, Fifth is sentence fluency, which show how good the
flow of his rubrics such as, if the following sentences are in good transition, it was good in the eyes and ears of all readers
and listeners. Sixth is conventions, which means proper use of punctuations and it should be grammatically correct and
lastly was Presentation, in writing rubric you should also prioritize the appearance of your work this should be following
the correct and appropriate space. That are the reason why it was called 6+1 traits, because it was named after the 6+1
qualities that needed in writing rubrics.
