Section 2: Statement of project detail.
1. Project Title:
This project is basically the inventory management of a company. This project is
made in order to handover to the required company by which the title should be
given by those companies. Being a personal project, the title of the project is “Private
Wardrobe” which also means personal locker.

2. Academic Questions:
Being an underdeveloped country, almost in every company file system is being
used which is causing different problems like slow in work, robbery of stock products,
not clear data of stock products, etc. as many people can have access to the file.
While using this project in real world, many questions may raise like:

i. What if the system crashes?

ii. What if the system is not secured?
iii. Data maybe leaked to others.
iv. How to get access to it by normal people?
v. What if the data are missing?

These are the questions which may raise while using the project.

3. Aim of the project:

The main aim if the project is given below:

i. To change from file system to digital system.

ii. To make easy for companies to store data.
iii. To increase the accuracy of quantity of stored data.
iv. To know the information of stock products from anywhere the user wants.
v. To control the available stocks.
vi. To avoid the waste and loss of the products.

4. Objectives of the project:

The main objective of this system is listed below:

i. Analyze of the sales or the product being used.

ii. Reduce the loss due to theft or wastage of the products.
iii. Maintain the lowest feasible amounts of inventory cost.
iv. Remove the sluggish items.
v. Know the exact amount of product needed.

1
vi. To maintain a steady availability of materials and inventory so that
manufacturing does not suffer when users need it.

5. Artefact (proposed) to be developed:

The main propose of this project to develop is to change the file system into the
digital system to get information about stocks and products required. Being inventory
management system, its main goal is to guarantee that there are enough items or
resources on hand to fulfill need without producing overstock or excessive stock.

Section 3: Project Proposal.

1. Introduction:
The rapid speed of industrialization in Nepal has
brought to light plenty of management issues.
Inventory management is a critical role that
affects the delivery company's sustainability and
has an influence on the balance sheet's
economic condition. Among these, inventory
management is one of the most important issues
that demands effective management. Accurate
and effective identification of the best inventory
control plan allows for the release of a
considerable number of assets that have been
locked in the form of investments, resulting in
increased resource utilization. Being a developing
country almost all companies or industries are
using file system which makes the reduce of
goods due to wastage and robbery from the

storage or the warehouse. Inventory Figure 1:Benefits (news, 2019)

management goals sometimes lessen the
problem whether it is better lucrative to accomplish something quickly but even more
costly or longer but less costly. (Juneja, 2015)

2. Background:
The Industrial Revolution, which boosted economy and rapid manufacturing, is without a
doubt is among the most significant developments in human history which leads the
mislead of produced products which needs to be controlled only by inventory
management system. So, a group of Harvard University students devised the first
computerized check-out system for the first time 1930s. This method relied on punch
cards, which were placed into a processor, which scanned them and then sent the data
to the storehouse. In the late 1940s and early 1950s, a precursor of today's bar-coding
system is designed, which used ultraviolet light-sensitive paint and a scanner. The
Universal Product Code (UPC) was developed in the late 1960s to help with managing
inventory. As computer technology changed, so did the techniques, and contemporary
inventory management systems started to be deployed in the mid and late 1990s.
Nowadays inventory management appears to rely on radio-frequency identification
(RFID), with microcontrollers transmitting goods information that includes all a company
owner and their staff need to know. (Inventory management, 2017)

3. Literature Review:
Raw resources, work-in-process items, and finished products are all examples of
inventories, which are defined as the fraction of a company's assets that are available or
will be available for sale. The first quantitative inventory management studies originate
from the second decades of the 20th century, yet there is still a lot of interest in this field.
Inventory management is a method for acquiring, keeping, and selling inventory,
including both raw materials and completed commodities. Stock control in terms of
business refers to having the correct stock, at the optimal rate, in the correct place, at
the correct time, and at the appropriate cost of the product. Stock management is the
technique for acquiring, keeping, and giving inventory, including both raw materials and
completed commodities. Stock control in relation to the business refers to having the
correct product, at the optimal rate, in the correct place, at the correct time, and at the
appropriate cost of the product. (ZIUKOV, 2016)

3.1. Types of inventories:

There are mainly six types of inventory management:

i. Movement inventories: Every day the products are being transported from seller
to the buyer or company in-order to use by the users through various modes of
transportation. Movement inventories are also called pipeline inventories. This
type of inventory mainly deals between buyer and seller.
ii. Buffer inventories: These inventories are used to stock the goods for the future
as there may occur in lack of goods. Every organization keeps an average
amount of stocks which can be used efficiently and effectively when needed.
iii. Anticipation inventories: these inventories are used to stocks of the products
produced for the future propose by which the supply of good goes smoothly in
demand. As an example, we can take raincoats production which is kept in stock
in this type of inventory.
iv. Decoupling inventories: these inventory deals when a product producer sets
aside additional building resources or work-in-progress goods for all or certain
phases of a manufacturing line because a low-stock scenario or a malfunction at
one step does not impede or interrupt activities
v. Cycle inventories: these types of inventories are used to fulfill the amount of
inventory that a reseller goes through in order to satisfy frequent sales requests.
It reflects a portion of a company's current inventory. The collection in a loop is
utilized and replaced with fresh things, or it is handed up.
vi. Hedged inventories: these are the extra inventory acquired or held in storage as
a cushion with the goal of lowering or minimizing the risks connected with
prospective price swings, or to take benefit of it to the greatest extent possible.
(google, 2017)

4. Artefact (proposed):
The main motive of choosing this project is to change the system form file system to the
digital system and to make easy for data to store. The main motive of choosing this
project is listed below:

i. Purchasing: using it makes easy to understand when and where to make

purchases to re-order new goods and how to do it which is also reliable and
accurate.
ii. Storage: using it the user can get enough information on when and where the
goods are to be sent and what is the exact value of products remaining which
reduced the loss in products by waste or robbery.
iii. Analysis: it makes easier to analyze if there is profit or loss using the digital
system than using the file system.
iv. Tracking: being a construction company, it makes easy to track the exact amount
of purchase and sales which can be useful to gain profit for the company.
v. Accounting: as inventory management system, accounting is the main factor to
gain profit in the company which can be accurate using this system.
vi. Compatible: this system is compatible to all devices by which user can get
required information form wherever they are. (Bose, 2016)

4.1. User management:

Manager capacity to control client access to different IT services such as platforms,
equipment, software, memory devices, networking, Software as a service, and more is
referred to as user management. Any identity and access management (IAM) system,
particularly system configuration solutions, must include user management. (Blanton,
2021)

The chart of the pages is given below:

S. N Pages Description
1. Registration User must register through their username

if needed because it is just initial research for the project.

4.2. Stock management:

In this section, the amount of product in and out is seen and the amount of stock
of goods are remaining are checked from the dashboard by admin.

Figure 3: Stock management. (Schellack, 2021)

4.3. Data management:

The act of consuming, storing, managing, and preserving data generated and
gathered by a company is known as data management. The data management
method involves several activities that work together to ensure that information in
business systems is correct, usable, and affordable. In this section, admin can
add more information of data received or reduced during the work. (stedman,
2019)

5. Methodology used during the project:

The Software Development Life Cycle, or SDLC, is a process for creating greater, low-
cost programs in the shortest period possible. SDLC is for Software Development Life
Cycle. It is a well-structured sequence of phases that allows a firm to quickly generate
high-quality programs that has been completely validated and is fully operational.

5.1. Role of the scrum:

Mainly there are only three types of roles in scrum:
a. Manufacturer of the product: The person in charge of the software product is this
person. They're focused on delivering the customer narrative to their group as
well as other leadership customers since they're linked to the user's
requirements.
b. Scrum master: The Scrum master is the guy in charge of organizing the Scrum
sessions. As an Agile project manager and trainer, think about them. The Scrum
master must organize the project plan, evaluation, and retrospective sessions as
well as organize the daily make an action plan.
c. Scrum squad: Everyone who is participating on the iteration is part of the Scrum
squad. To fulfill the Sprint aim of continual improvement, teammates must be
self-organizing and communicative. (Martins, 2021)

5.2. Fundamentals of Scrum:

There are mainly six fundamentals of scrum which can be applied and take benefit
from it:
a. The ability to control the factual method: Clarity, examination, and adaptability
are important to Team members.

7
b. Self-organization: Every Scrum participant is appointed to take responsibility of
individual duties and efforts, and the Team members will have responsibilities
and standards.
c. Understanding: If work is done collaboratively throughout and after the Scrum
sprint, you'll achieve the greatest outcomes.
d. Consideration based on value: ever team members have to prioritize your work
from the very onset of the Scrum process.
e. Timely: Because the Scrum team believes in improving quality as it has several
time-based tasks including the sprint, regular standups, and retrospectives.
f. Design that is continuous: The scrum team will be the best at adapting to
consumer demands and making changes to the product and deliverables
depending on to value-based prioritizing. (Martins, 2021)

Section 4: Risks, dangers, and emergency preparations for
the System:

Risks Impact Probability Action

Crash high low All data should be
copied on cloud or
separate device other
than this software.
Physical crash high medium All the data should be
transferred into new
system.
Change in authorizer medium high The registration
should be redone
when the system
authorizer is changed.
Loss in data high low There is low chance
of loss in data unless
more than one user
uses the software. So,
the password should
not be shared
No Internet low high Being an offline
system, it does
function while offline
also which does not
harm the information
stored.
