To Plot The Step Response of A Fist Order RL Circuit
To Plot The Step Response of A Fist Order RL Circuit
OBJECTIVE:
To understand the phenomena of Step response in RL circuit
To plot the output waveform of RL circuit and compare its initial and final current values
to theoretically calculated ones.
STEP RESPONSE OF RL CIRCUIT:
When a dc voltage (current) source is suddenly applied to a circuit, it can be modeled as a step
function, and the resulting response is called step response.
Find the current in the loop or the voltage across the inductor after the switch is closed at t = 0.
Write KVL around the loop.
Response =Step response + Natural Response
Natural response + Response of A system when all source is disconnected
Step response = Response of a system when supplied source is connected

PROCEDURE STEPS:
Open ORCAD Capture-Lite. Select components form source library. Connect the circuit
according to circuit diagram.
After designing the circuit diagram go to new simulation profile. Select Time Domain
transient Analysis, Runtime=20us, Maximum Step Size=1ns.
LAB TASK
Construct the circuit diagram in PSPICE and plot the waveform of
